Job description

The Team + The Role
Pendo's Professional Services team is part of the broader Strategy & Transformation organization. The team helps customers transform how they operate, not just how they use Pendo, through technical and strategic consulting. This work spans complex technical engagements, including system migrations, integrations, and data work, as well as advisory support that helps customers evolve their processes, teams, and ways of working.
As a Sr. Professional Services Engineer Consultant, you will own the design and delivery of complex technical engagements. You will work at the intersection of product, data, and engineering, extending Pendo's capabilities through custom integrations, data pipelines, APIs, and technical solutions that connect Pendo to customers' broader ecosystems. You will partner with consultants and Customer Engineers to deliver outcome-driven engagements that accelerate time to value and enable long-term customer success.
This role is based in Raleigh, San Francisco or remote
What this looks like day-to-day
  • Engagement design and scoping: Partner with Account Directors and Customer Engineers to qualify Professional Services opportunities and distinguish transformation gaps from tooling gaps. Lead scoping conversations with customer stakeholders, define the problem, validate appetite, design engagement structures, and author Statements of Work that are commercially sound and delivery-ready.
  • Custom integrations and data solutions: Design and build technical solutions that extend Pendo's capabilities and integrate with customer systems. Write production-quality code, build APIs, design data pipelines, and implement ETL processes across data warehouses, analytics platforms, BI tools, and emerging AI/ML systems.
  • Technical project delivery: Own multiple complex technical projects end-to-end, including data engineering and system integration work. Lead execution, troubleshoot issues, provide technical leadership on escalated engagements, and ensure delivery aligns to customer outcomes, scope, and timeline.
  • Data and architecture consulting: Advise customers on data architecture, integration patterns, and long-term technical strategy. Support instrumentation design for advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases, and guide customers through technical transformations involving data infrastructure and system design.
  • Enablement and reusability: Build reusable code libraries, frameworks, and integration patterns that scale across the Professional Services team. Mentor consultants on data flows, API usage, debugging approaches, and technical problem-solving to raise the overall capability of the organization.
  • Practice impact and field intelligence: Identify patterns across engagements and turn them into reusable playbooks, documentation, and delivery approaches. Share field intelligence with Product and cross-functional teams so customer transformation challenges inform how Pendo supports adoption and long-term value.
Who You Are
Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren't buzzwords; they're the things we'll actually look for in how you talk about your work.
You're a builder, not a maintainer.
You're most energized when there isn't a clear path yet, and you get to define it. You don't wait for direction; you identify gaps, shape solutions, and drive them forward. At Pendo, great Sr. PSE Consultants don't just follow instructions; they operate as strategic advisors, influencing decisions, guiding stakeholders, and elevating how we work.
You're AI-curious - genuinely.
You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it, and you bring that energy to everything - how you approach your work, how you prep, how you communicate, how you think. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut.
Must-haves
  • 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role within B2B SaaS, with hands-on experience writing custom code and building integrations.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or Node.js, with the ability to write production-quality backend code.
  • Deep experience with APIs, data pipelines, integration patterns, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • SQL proficiency and strong data modeling expertise.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data concepts into business value for both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading technical transformation initiatives and data infrastructure projects.
Nice-to-haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Application development experience with Node.js, Python, or a related language or framework.
  • Experience with the modern data stack, such as Segment, Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, or Fivetran.
  • AI/ML integration experience, including feature engineering and MCP implementations.
  • Background in data engineering, integration consulting, or technical services focused on custom development.
