Job description

Cognizant is looking for a seasoned CIS Service Line Solutions Sales Director to lead Cloud infrastructure and sales cloud initiatives within the Insurance domain. This role will drive transformative solutions, optimize sales and marketing strategies, and strengthen service delivery across hybrid environments. Ideal candidate will provide deep expertise in one or more of hyperscale and hybrid cloud & Infrastructure solutions supporting Cognizant’s client account teams in vertical markets and their account expansion plans into new markets and business areas.

We require the SME in Hyperscale and hybrid cloud & Infrastructure solutions to partner with the customer to identify areas of opportunity to improve business outcomes through digital transformation that when implemented, lead to improved process and end-user experiences for everyone. SLS’s are usually assigned into existing markets and some SLS will also engage in new logo markets. The Specialist will be a “trusted advisor” to both the client and the Cognizant Client Partner blending strategic, tactical and ‘street savvy’ sales experience.

Responsibilities
  • Drive growth in revenue by prioritization, structuring, and leading digital Cloud & Infrastructure engagements for business Unit.
  • Partner with practices and delivery organization to co-define and drive transformation strategy and service offerings across all areas of Cloud, Infrastructure and Security Solutions.
  • Map client organization, build outstanding relationships with new business units, and build a growth strategy for developing new business opportunities for the CIS Business that covers Cloud, Infrastructure and Security.
  • Drive large-scale Cloud and Infrastructure transformation opportunities by shaping solution strategies, developing compelling business cases, and aligning technology investments to client priorities and desired business outcomes.
  • Partner with clients to define and execute digital transformation roadmaps that accelerate cloud adoption, optimize IT operations, improve resilience, and enhance customer and employee experiences.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor in Cloud and Infrastructure domains, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership to help clients navigate modernization, migration, optimization, and managed services initiatives.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new revenue opportunities across existing and prospective accounts by uncovering client challenges and crafting innovative Cloud and Infrastructure solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Develop and carry out Account Growth strategy and business plans for CIS (Cloud, Infrastructure & Security).
  • Responsible for growth, Business Development & Customer Relationship activities and support delivery transformation and fulfillment of key talent needs of the client.
  • Work in a matrix organization, enabling prospecting and other sales management goals.
  • Lead operations and maintain process and system hygiene to enable system oriented KPI’s and measurement.
  • Drive growth and deliver on revenue and booking (Total Commercial Value) targets
  • Lead/support financial and contract terms, negotiation, and outsourcing discussions
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in either Solutioning, Pre-Sales or Business Development, along with delivery transformation with hands on Cloud & Infrastructure skills on two of core areas.
  • Track record of originating, shaping, and closing large Cloud and Infrastructure transformation engagements by leveraging consultative sales approaches, executive relationships, and outcome-based value propositions.
  • At least 5+ years of hands‑on experience in business development/presales/sales /practice growth and management.
  • Experience in the areas of Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Multi Cloud & Networking Solutions.
  • Broad knowledge of end-to-end infrastructure and cloud service landscapes, including compute, workplace, platform, connectivity, and operational support domains, with the ability to position large‑scale transformation, modernization, and managed services solutions.
  • Ability to lead entire sales lifecycle from opportunity identification (focus on farming) to conciliation/contracting
  • Good experience in Cloud related technologies to design and implement scalable solutions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute digital strategies that drive business growth.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with the aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications
  • Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-drive, flexibility and ownership of objectives
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience in end-to-end lead generation, sales, business development and RFI/RFP processes.
  • Insurance domain exposure and client engagement experience.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $190,000 to $210,000+ depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
