Description
The Office of the Indiana Attorney General is seeking an IT professional with leadership experience and a public-servant mindset to serve as our Director of Software Engineering. This position will report to the Chief Technology Officer and leads the development, production, and execution of Salesforce enhancements and other software solutions for the office.
Examples of Duties
  • Deliver enterprise applications, Salesforce solutions, AI-enabled capabilities, enterprise architecture, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead a cross-functional software engineering team through architecture, development, administration, quality analysis, business analysis, integration, and support functions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align technological strategy with business goals, support a high-performing team, and deliver business-focused outcomes.
  • Design and implement enterprise solutions across Salesforce, ERP, CRM, AI/ML, cloud, data integration, and digital transformation platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with executives and leadership staff in the office.

Typical Skills and Qualifications
  • 10 years of IT/Software engineering experience preferred in legal, government, or non-profit sectors.
  • Experience leading and managing software engineering teams across development, architecture, QA, DevOps, and support functions.
  • Salesforce ecosystem experience.
  • Strong enterprise architecture and solution design expertise.
  • Proven experience creating and delivering MVP solutions to executive leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Development experience in: Salesforce Apex, Lightning Components(LWC), Advanced Java, Python, Integration Frameworks, ETL Technologies.
  • Proven success building CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, release automation, and government frameworks.
  • Experience establishing AI governance, AI policies, responsible AI frameworks, and Generative AI adoption strategies.
  • Expertise in enterprise integrations involving Salesforce, ERP, HR, Finance, and operational systems.
  • Strong Agile, Scrum, and product delivery leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience integrating Salesforce platforms with enterprise applications including, but not limited to: HRIS, ServiceNow, Azure services, enterprise data warehouses, third-party SaaS platforms, middleware, APIs, and ETL/data integration platforms.

Additional Qualifications
Indiana-based; open to hybrid work arrangement; stakeholder management, and executive-level presentation skills.
