Maintenance Director – Elkhart, IN

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Director to lead the Maintenance Department at a skilled nursing facility in Elkhart, IN. This full-time, day-shift position offers a supportive environment where your expertise will make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the operation of the Maintenance Department to ensure the facility is safe, clean, and well-maintained.

  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are functional, adequately stocked, and comply with regulatory standards.

  • Monitor staff adherence to safety protocols, Universal Precautions, and departmental policies, including fire and disaster procedures.

  • Conduct daily rounds to verify proper maintenance and ensure timely resolution of any issues.

  • Oversee apartment conversions for Assisted Living and Independent Living units.

  • Collaborate with other departments to address facility needs and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

  • Basic knowledge and training in electrical, plumbing, and HVACR systems.

  • Strong preference for candidates with Long-Term Care (LTC) experience and familiarity with Life Safety Code.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
