Job description

Why This Role Matters:
The Director of Corporate Safety and Security is managing the physical and personnel security for Group 1001 locations. This includes responsibility of life safety and physical security of approximately 20 locations in located in the United States. The primary location is the corporate headquarters in Zionsville, IN. In this role you are responsible for implementing and managing security programs to safeguard the organization's assets and personnel. You will manage security programs including building access control and physical security systems. In addition, this role will help develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
How You'll Contribute:
  • Establish policies and procedures for fire emergencies, suspicious mail, weather events, medical emergencies, external events, etc.
  • Identify assess, and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
  • Participate in the business continuity planning team with the AVP Corporate Real Estate.
  • Collaborate with internal security professionals and external security vendors charged with maintaining the safety and security of the organization's workforce and premises.
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team to support card access and camera monitoring as needed.
  • Lead and perform specialized support functions in the areas of physical security, life safety incident management, preparedness, and communications.
  • Maintain Facilities Incident Response Plan and update as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with security regulations and company security policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Security Program.
  • Create and maintain innovative security management policies, procedures, and practices in collaboration with Human Resources and Information Security Team.
  • Ensure on-going external networking to gain intelligence and benchmark with peer organizations.
  • Develop and deliver training, drills, tabletop exercises.
  • Engage with Human Resources as needed to engage armed guard services and manage the process with internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in direct security-related investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Oversee coordination with local police, emergency agencies, and government entities as appropriate.
  • Execute and track all fire and other drills across the portfolio.

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in corporate security management.
  • Monday through Friday in office requirement
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Security Management or Criminal Justice or equivalent work experience in corporate security
  • Prior corporate safety and security experience across multiple locations.
  • Previous experience managing security specialists
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security strategies
  • Experience effectively project manage multiple security programs
  • Strong knowledge of physical security / life safety principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must reside in the Indianapolis area with the ability to travel 25% of the time.
