JOB SUMMARY

Manages the day-to-day operation and is accountable for ensuring reliable and cost-effective operation of assigned processing area(s), logistics and utilities, to optimize and achieve production goals of the refinery. This role is essential in establishing and promoting a culture focused on safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable operations with the assigned area(s). This role provides leadership, motivation, training, and development of workforce; participates in continuous improvement activities as part of the site management team and ensures Company policies are followed in order to maintain a positive work culture.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Eight (8) or more years Management experience (Required)

Fifteen (15) or more years experience in refinery, petrochemical or chemical role (Required)

No Licensure or Certification Required.

Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including climbing of stairs, ladders and in confined spaces, Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, respirator) , Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, holidays and overtime as required

Integral member of the Refining Leadership team, reporting to the Refinery General Manager, participating in the construction of strategic objectives for the site and assures the day-to-day activities are aligned with achieving set goals

Serves as process owner with overall accountability of sponsorship and execution of operations excellence management systems

Serves as external refinery representative for off-site engagement activities (i.e., community relations, industry associations, etc.)

Serves as Operations POC providing Corporate leadership with production, outage and issue resolution status

Responsible for developing and delivery of weekly and monthly operating plans and premises

Sponsors and supports development of corporate initiatives and programs

Primary DoA for Refinery General Manager

Assures organizational leadership development through training, certification, performance management and career development

Drives continuous improvement culture that supports core values of the organization

Supports and prioritizes continual improvement in all personal and process safety Drive Zero objectives

Evaluates plant performance, drives continuous improvement in support of long-term sustainable profitability (i.e., margin capture, reliability, and cost optimization)

Develops and implements annual business plans (capital and expense budgets, safety, environment, quality goals, run rates and headcount, etc.) in alignment with refinery and corporate objectives

Assures asset availability through threat mitigation and loss production opportunity (LPO) management

Assures critical relationships with head office and corporate stakeholders

Acts as formal incident commander for extended events

Key stakeholder for collective bargaining agreement and union relations
