What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Freelance Refinery Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Freelance Refinery Engineer, you need a solid background in chemical engineering, refinery operations, and process optimization, often supported by a relevant engineering degree and practical experience. Familiarity with industry-standard simulation software (like Aspen HYSYS), safety regulations, and possibly certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) licensure are typically required. Strong problem-solving, project management, and client communication skills set top performers apart in freelance roles. These skills ensure safe, efficient refinery operations and successful client engagements in a competitive, dynamic industry.

What are the highest paying self-employed jobs?

Self-employed roles such as freelance refinery specialists, consultants, and contractors in engineering or technical fields tend to have higher earning potential, especially with specialized skills and certifications. These jobs often require advanced knowledge, industry experience, and the ability to manage projects independently, leading to higher income levels compared to general freelancing roles.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Freelance refinery roles typically do not pay weekly wages of $4,000 without specialized skills or experience. High-paying freelance jobs that can reach this level often include skilled trades like commercial diving, specialized consulting, or technical contracting, which may require certifications and significant expertise. Most high-earning freelance positions depend on experience, niche skills, and the ability to secure consistent clients.

What are some common challenges faced by freelance refinery professionals when working with multiple clients simultaneously?

Freelance refinery professionals often juggle projects for several clients at once, which can present challenges in time management and prioritization. Balancing different client expectations, project deadlines, and communication styles requires strong organizational skills and flexibility. Additionally, freelancers must stay updated with industry standards and safety regulations, as each refinery may have unique compliance requirements. Building clear contracts and maintaining regular communication with clients can help mitigate misunderstandings and ensure smooth project delivery.

What are freelance refineries?

Freelance refineries are independent professionals or small teams that offer specialized services to the oil and gas refining industry on a contract or project basis. These freelancers may provide expertise in areas such as process optimization, safety consulting, equipment maintenance, or regulatory compliance. By working independently rather than as full-time employees, freelance refinery specialists can serve multiple clients, offering flexibility and specialized knowledge to meet the unique needs of each project.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

A freelance refinery or similar remote job can generate $2000 weekly by offering specialized skills such as editing, consulting, or technical services through online platforms. Success depends on building a strong client base, setting competitive rates, and managing multiple projects efficiently, often requiring good communication tools and self-discipline.

How hard is it to get a job at a refinery?

Securing a position as a refinery worker can be competitive and often requires relevant technical skills, safety training, and sometimes certifications such as OSHA or process safety management. Entry-level roles may be easier to obtain with a high school diploma, but advanced positions typically demand experience or specialized training. The hiring process often involves background checks, drug tests, and safety assessments due to the hazardous environment.

Job description

The Role

Game Seven is seeking a full-time Freelance Recruiting Manager to identify, recruit, and pipeline best-in-class creative, strategy, digital, and production talent. This is a permanent, internal role dedicated to building and sustaining the freelance talent infrastructure that powers our work.

This role sits at the intersection of talent sourcing, recruitment strategy, and creative operations. You will own the end-to-end process of finding, vetting, and cultivating a dynamic freelance network - from designers and creative directors to producers and editors - ensuring we always have the right talent ready when projects demand it.

You are equal parts recruiter, relationship-builder, and operator. You thrive in fast-paced environments, understand the rhythms of a creative agency, and take genuine pride in knowing the talent landscape better than anyone in the room.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Recruitment

  •       Proactively identify, vet, and recruit a bench of freelance creative and production talent across all experience levels
  •       Build and maintain talent pipelines across disciplines including design, art direction, strategy, video production, experiential, and emerging skill sets
  •       Own and evolve a structured freelance database, including rates, availability, specialties, and performance history
  •       Stay deeply tapped into industry networks, communities, and cultural movements to continuously surface new and emerging voices
  •       Conduct outreach and intake conversations to assess fit, establish relationships, and qualify talent before project needs arise

Pipeline Development & Relationship Management

  •       Develop and nurture ongoing relationships with freelancers so we are always a preferred partner when they're available
  •       Maintain warm pipelines across all key disciplines so the agency can move quickly when opportunities arise
  •       Represent Game Seven's brand and culture compellingly when recruiting freelance talent

Operations & Process

  •       Collaborate with Finance, Legal, & Operations on freelancer onboarding, contracting, and rate negotiation
  •       Ensure a smooth and professional onboarding experience that reflects well on the agency
  •       Maintain clear documentation around freelance talent pipelines and recruitment activity
  •       Help refine and scale freelance recruitment processes as the agency grows
Qualifications
  •       3-5 years of experience in talent recruitment, a creative agency, production company, or related environment
  •       Proven track record of sourcing and building freelance creative or production talent pipelines
  •       Strong understanding of creative disciplines and production workflows
  •       Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build trust quickly
  •       Ability to manage multiple recruitment priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  •       An existing network within creative and/or production communities is a strong plus
  •       Experience in culture-driven, sports, or entertainment marketing is a plus

The pay range for this position is $85,000 - 100,000
