Founded in 1901, our company began making sealants and lacquers — including a patented formula for brewer’s pitch — for beer tanks and vessels. Over the last century, our expanded capabilities, project experience, safety record, and commitment to quality have made Enerfab one of the industry leaders in shop fabrication, field erection and construction and maintenance services.
The Project Accountant is responsible for financial tracking, reporting, and analysis related to construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate project accounting, cost control, and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Financial Tracking:

    • Prepare and submit accurate client invoices and progress billings in accordance with project contracts.
    • Collaborate with project managers to verify billing accuracy.
  3. Cost Analysis:
    • Analyze project costs and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential overruns.
    • Assist in preparing cost estimates for new projects and change orders.
  4. Financial Reporting:
    • Generate and distribute financial reports, including project P&L statements and cash flow analysis.
    • Prepare financial summaries and forecasts for project stakeholders.
  5. Contract Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with project contracts, including payment terms, milestone requirements, and reporting obligations.
    • Collaborate with legal and project teams to address contract-related issues.
  6. Revenue Recognition:
    • Monitor project revenue recognition, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and project milestones.
    • Assist in revenue recognition calculations.
  7. Audit Support:
    • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits of project financials.
    • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  8. Project Closeout:
    • Facilitate the financial closeout of completed projects, including final billing and reconciliation.
    • Prepare financial summaries and lessons learned reports.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams.
