Director of Program Management – Adolescent Residential Treatment

Join Lakeland Behavioral Health System and help lead one of the region's premier adolescent residential treatment programs. As the Director of Program Management, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive residential treatment program serving adolescents facing complex behavioral health, emotional, and psychiatric challenges. This highly visible leadership position is responsible for ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, program growth, and a therapeutic environment that promotes healing, resilience, and long-term success for patients and their families.

The Director will oversee program operations, budget management, staff development, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration while partnering with hospital leadership to advance the mission of providing compassionate, evidence-based care. This role is ideal for a passionate behavioral health leader who thrives in a fast-paced residential setting and is committed to developing high-performing teams, enhancing treatment programming, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. 

PURPOSE STATEMENT: 

Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of the facility's therapeutic programs. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Develop and maintain administrative and clinical operations that provide the highest quality care and best possible outcomes for the patients.  Provide supervision to program staff. 
  • Plan and implement program goals, objectives, personnel, resources and equipment. Implement the approved program plan objectives, timetables, expected outcome and measures for assigned areas of responsibility.  
  • Oversee the program's budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits. Work may involve directing counselors, clinical staff or other facility / clinic staff involved in the delivery of services through the program. Organizes, manages and coordinates all operational and administrative processes.  
  • Develop and implement operating policies and procedures for the program or organization; ensure procedures and workflow are consistent with organizational objectives, treatment protocol, regulations, and standards of care; ensure that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements. Identify opportunities to improve program's efficiency’s  
  • Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. 
  • Responsible for an assigned caseload if applicable to the program. 
  • Support, teach and act as a program resource for other staff members.  
  • Provide direct care relative to diagnosis and therapeutic management independently, using consultation where appropriate.  
  • Monitor staff schedules to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are available to facilitate care in a timely manner. 
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, develop and maintain and audit charts and records for patients. 
  • Serve as liaison and provide consultation with other staff on related issues, regulations, and standards pertaining to area of clinical specialty. 
  • Provide outreach services in area of clinical specialty as needed.  

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS:  

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field required.  Master’s degree in behavioral health preferred. 
  • Four or more years’ experience working in behavioral health required.  
  • One or more years’ management experience required.
