Job description

Advanced Digital Media is hiring a General Manager to lead commercial operations for two of Illinois’ most relevant news-media businesses — from inside the Illinois State Capitol.

The Illinois Radio Network is a syndicated news and sports service to 101 commercial AM/FM affiliates across Illinois — indispensable daily content for local-market broadcasters. Blue Room Stream is a subscription service providing broadcast-quality, wall-to-wall live coverage of the Illinois General Assembly, the governor, and statewide news — chasing the story wherever it moves. Both operations are neutral, fact-focused, and built on the professional standards their customers depend on.

The Opportunity

This is a sales leadership role with general management responsibility. You’ll own revenue across both properties — affiliate relationships, subscription growth, new business, and the commercial opportunities that get built around our content, audience, and Capitol presence.

It’s also a leadership role on the ground. You’re in the building. Present for IRN affiliates when they need you. In the loop for BRS subscribers when committee rooms shift. Responsible for the product quality that makes the commercial conversation possible. You see the big picture and you handle the details that make the operation feel professional to the people who pay for it.

Reporting to the Vice President of Audio & Video, you’ll have direct accountability for the commercial performance of both properties — with real upside for the operator who delivers.

What We’re Looking For

•     Sales leadership experience inside commercial news media — radio, television, digital, or comparable.

•     General management or station management background, or readiness to step up to that level.

•     A track record of hitting numbers and growing accounts.

•     Comfort in a capitol, statehouse, or politically active environment.

•     Working knowledge of live broadcast and streaming operations — enough to oversee quality, not necessarily to run the board.

•     Drive to build something significantly bigger than what’s already here.

Compensation

Base salary $60,000–$85,000, depending on experience, plus commission and targeted performance bonus tied to revenue and growth milestones.

Robust benefits package: paid time off, health care coverage with multiple plan options for employee and immediate family, optical, dental, HSA, DCFSA, short- and long-term disability (STD/LTD), and generous company-sponsored 401(k).

On-site in Springfield. This is not a remote role.
