Blue Danube Productions, an audio/visual event production company, is seeking a Director of Sales to join our team! The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving net new business in addition to growing our footprint with existing clients that will be measured against quarterly and annual revenue goals. This role will cultivate long-term client relationships, oversee the sales team's strategy and performance, and lead a team of highly motivated sales professionals to achieve annual goals.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong network of corporate marketing contacts, a proven track record of closing and managing high-value accounts, and the ability to coach, support, and lead a sales team toward growth goals. Paramount is the candidate's ability to work in a highly functioning team environment where teamwork is a cornerstone of our success.
Blue Danube Productions offers a hybrid work arrangement, with 2 days per week required in our south Seattle office.
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Sales:
Strategic Sales Leadership & Team Management:
• Work closely with senior leadership to define business development strategies and annual revenue targets focusing on acquisition and client growth.
• Set individual and team sales goals, lead regular check-ins on progress, and provide coaching and support to sales team in developing proposals, closing deals, and navigating complex opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, tools, and training to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across the team.
Business Development & Client Acquisition:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with corporate clients, especially within marketing, communications, and experiential roles.
• Leverage your industry presence and personal network to build a pipeline of qualified prospects
• Craft and deliver compelling presentations and customized proposals that align with client needs and goals.
• Negotiate terms and contracts that support profitability and long-term partnership.
• Represent Blue Danube at key events, networking functions, and trade gatherings.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
• Maintain and report on sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM systems.
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Operations, and Senior Leadership to align proposals with delivery capabilities throughout the event planning & execution process.
• Collaborate with Finance and leadership on pricing models, revenue tracking, and commission oversight.
• Identify market trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategic direction.
Requirements
What a successful Director of Sales will have:
• 8-10 years of proven sales and client services experience in event production, marketing, or consulting
• Solid understanding and working experience with audio/visual or technical event production
• Proven success in building and managing corporate client accounts and relationships
• Experience leading or mentoring sales professionals
• Strong understanding of strategic sales methodologies and CRM systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Office 365 proficiency
• CRM experience required
