Job description

Director of Operations - High Growth DTC Brand

A fast-growing DTC apparel and active lifestyle brand is hiring a Director of Operations to build and scale the physical operations infrastructure behind its next phase of growth.

This is a hands-on, onsite leadership role with ownership of warehouse and fulfilment execution across Shopify DTC, Amazon, wholesale and retail. The mandate is not simply to maintain an existing operation - it is to bring greater structure, operating discipline and scalability to the function, while helping shape the capacity and facilities needed for continued growth

The role will own day-to-day fulfilment performance while also looking ahead: improving processes and systems, developing the leadership team, scaling capacity, and helping design and stand up future fulfilment facilities as the network expands

This role is fully onsite in the Mountain West, US. Relocation may be required

What you'll own

  • Lead end-to-end warehouse and fulfilment operations across receiving, storage, pick/pack, shipping and returns
  • Establish the operating cadence, KPIs and accountability needed to drive consistent performance
  • Own labour planning, productivity, staffing and cost efficiency
  • Drive inventory accuracy, process discipline and WMS performance
  • Build and develop the operations leadership team and create a high-accountability culture
  • Identify bottlenecks and redesign processes, workflows, layout and systems to increase capacity and efficiency
  • Scale fulfilment capability alongside rapidly growing DTC, Amazon, wholesale and retail volumes
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Commercial and Finance to ensure the operation is ready for demand
  • Help plan, design and stand up future fulfilment facilities as the business continues to scale

What we're looking for

  • 8–12+ years in fulfilment, distribution, warehouse or operations leadership
  • Proven experience scaling a high-growth operation, ideally within DTC, ecommerce, CPG, apparel or an omnichannel consumer business
  • Direct ownership of a sizeable, high-volume fulfilment operation and warehouse teams
  • Strong understanding of DTC fulfilment, ideally with Shopify alongside Amazon and wholesale/retail
  • Experience building operating structure, processes and teams rather than simply managing an established operation
  • Strong WMS and systems experience, with the ability to translate systems into better operational performance
  • Deep understanding of labour planning, throughput, inventory accuracy, service levels and fulfilment economics
  • Experience with facility expansion, network planning or launching new operational sites is highly valuable

We're looking for an operator-builder - someone who is comfortable on the warehouse floor, but can also step back and think about what the operation needs 12–24 months from now

Someone who has operated through rapid growth and increasing complexity, knows how to put structure around a fast-moving business, develops strong leaders underneath them, and can build the infrastructure required to keep growth from becoming an operational constraint
