Position Summary

The Director of Operations leads all corporate operations of CSG Advisors, overseeing Finance, Human Resources, Technology, Compliance, Administration, and Corporate Services. This executive leadership role is responsible for translating the firm's strategic objectives into scalable systems, documented processes, and measurable operational performance.

Working in close partnership with the Co-CEOs and CFO, the Director of Operations ensures the firm's corporate functions operate as an integrated organization enabling firm leadership to focus on clients, strategic growth, and business development while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

The Director of Operations is accountable for the performance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of all corporate operations, ensuring the firm has the infrastructure, processes, and support necessary to achieve its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Execute the firm's operational strategy while leading all corporate operations and support functions
  • Build scalable processes, systems, and organizational infrastructure
  • Establish KPIs and operational dashboards and lead continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Drive accountability across all corporate departments
Firm Administration & Corporate Governance
  • Oversee corporate records, governance documents, annual filings, registrations, and WBE certifications
  • Define clear role expectations for all corporate staff and hold each direct report accountable to them
  • Resolve operational issues at the Director level; escalโ€ฆ
  • Oversee all administrative staff and functions; set and hold standards for execution quality
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Partner with compliance consultant to support SEC/MSRB compliance
  • Oversee operational compliance activities and regulatory reporting
  • Manage insurance renewals and procurement
  • Monitor operational risk and ensure firm-wide policy compliance
  • Own record retention policy and ensure firm-wide adherence
Financial Oversight
  • Provide oversight of the firm's financial operations while partnering with the Director of Finance, who is responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and treasury functions
  • Own the annual budget process โ€” timeline, coordination, and delivery โ€” with Director of Finance leading analysis
  • Oversee monthly invoicing operations, accounts receivable processes, vendor administration, and operational spending
  • Review departmental budgets and operational investments
Human Resources
  • Provide leadership for the firm's Human Resources function while the HR Manager oversees day-to-day administration
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, compensation administration, and organizational planning
  • Enforce firm-wide HR policies; escalโ€ฆ
  • Partner with HR Manager to build out formal HR systems as the firm scales toward 45+ staff
Technology & Systems
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for the firm's managed IT service provider
  • Oversee software licensing, access management, computer inventory, documentation, and technology governance
  • Maintain internal systems documentation; oversee system upgrades and integrations
  • Collaborate with Director of Finance on financial system decisions (QuickBooks Online, Payroll, etc.)
Policy Implementation & Enforcement
  • Translate Co-CEO and firm-level policy decisions into documented procedures
  • Enforce firm-wide policies consistently across all functions and staff; provide direct feedback when practices deviate
  • Build, publish, and maintain a firm policy and procedures manual covering all support functions
Business Operations Support
  • Provide oversight of business operations that support client delivery, including contract administration and project budgets in coordination with Finance
  • Oversee proposal (RFP) execution process in coordination with Business Development
  • Maintain visibility into Business Development pipeline as client engagements flow to corporate operations
Qualifications Required
  • 7+ years in operations management, COO, or senior admin leadership roles โ€” ideally in professional services or consulting
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-functional teams (Finance, HR, IT, Compliance, Admin)
  • Strong organizational and process-building skills; comfortable creating structure where little exists
  • Ability to hold staff accountable with directness and consistency โ€” including pushing back on Co-CEOs when policies or decisions are not being followed
  • Strong written communication skills; able to draft policies, procedures, and documentation independently
Preferred
  • Background in regulated environments (government contracting, municipal finance, or similar)
  • Experience at a small- to mid-size professional services firm ($10โ€“30M revenue range)
  • Familiarity with: QuickBooks Online, Productive (PSA), or comparable financial/project management tools
  • SHRM-CP or equivalent HR credential, or meaningful HR operations experience
