Job description

Role Summary

The CIM Lead will lead the design, maintenance and governance of Common Information Model (CIM) solutions within an electric utility environment. The consultant will help utility systems exchange consistent and reliable information using industry standards such as IEC 61970 and IEC 61968.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead CIM strategy and architecture for utility systems.
  • Design and maintain CIM-compliant data models.
  • Support integration and interoperability between utility applications.
  • Ensure consistent data exchange using IEC 61970 and IEC 61968.
  • Maintain the Network Analysis Model (NAM) on OSI EMS.
  • Create and maintain RTU databases.
  • Perform TMS database modeling.
  • Support one-line displays.
  • Work with EMS, SCADA and TMS environments.
  • Validate and maintain utility data models.
  • Establish model governance, version control and documentation.
  • Support data-quality and compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, business and utility operations teams.
  • Support grid modernization and digital-transformation initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is not simply a CIM consultant. The strongest profile will be a 7+ year electric utility professional from Energy Transmission or Power Transmission who has hands-on experience with OSI EMS, particularly Network Analysis Model maintenance, RTU database creation and TMS database modeling, combined with strong CIM/IEC 61970/61968 knowledge.
