Overview:

The Director of Federal Business Development will play a pivotal role in leading and expanding Take2's federal sales. This position will involve establishing high-level relationships with federal agencies and systems integrator partners; identifying, building, and converting pre and post-award pipeline; and achieving annual sales and performance targets. The Director of Federal Business Development will have a background in sales or account leadership and growth in Federal systems integration consulting. The candidate will have demonstrated success growing Federal sales and revenue and have extensive experience partnering and building teams with large, mid, and small-sized systems integrators. The candidate will bring strong domain knowledge of the Federal marketspace, with knowledge and domain expertise in the areas of DOD, DHS, Cyber, DevSecOps, Cloud and AI/Data management being especially desirable. The individual will be highly networked and have extensive relationships with Federal integrator partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Drive Pipeline & Revenue Growth

Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across federal markets, through pre and post-award subcontract opportunities. Consistently achieve quarterly and annual revenue, pipeline, and teaming targets. 

  • Expand Strategic Client Relationships

Build and deepen relationships with senior stakeholders across federal agencies and top-tier federal integrators. Position Take2 as a trusted partner to support mission-critical initiatives. 

  • Execute Account & Growth Strategy

Develop and implement strategic account and sales plans aligned to Take2's growth objectives. Penetrate target accounts and expand footprint across the Civilian, Defense, Health, and Intelligence sectors. 

  • Lead Capture & Partner Engagement

Collaborate with federal integrator BD, capture, and program teams to shape opportunities, influence pursuits, and secure preferred/strategic supplier status. 

  • Shape & Deliver Winning Solutions

Serve as the primary interface for RFIs, RFPs, and SOWs-crafting tailored staffing and services solutions (pursuits, post-award staff augmentation & SOW) aligned to client mission and compliance needs. 

  • Represent Take2 in the Market

Actively engage in federal industry events, forums, and networking opportunities to elevate brand visibility, generate leads, and expand partnerships. 

  • Advise Workforce & Technology Solutions

Guide clients through workforce strategy and digital transformation initiatives, leveraging Take2's capabilities in Workforce Management, Modern Enterprise, and Digital Innovation. 

  • Ensure Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain strict adherence to federal contracting requirements, including security clearances and regulatory standards. Provide oversight to mitigate contractual and operational risks. 

  • Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams

Mentor and help develop sales professionals assigned to support your accounts in conjunction with the Director of Sales, fostering a high-performance culture that exceeds individual and team growth targets. 

  • Track Performance & Inform Strategy

Implement and manage pipeline and performance tracking. Deliver regular executive-level reporting on revenue, pipeline health, market trends, and strategic insights.


Year One Success:

  • Revenue & Pipeline Performance (Primary Scorecard)
  • Achieves or exceeds annual revenue target (or ramps to full quota if a build year) 
  • Builds a 3-5x qualified pipeline relative to quota 
  • Converts at least 1-3 meaningful wins (pre or post award SubK) 
  • Establishes a predictable pipeline cadence (consistent deal flow vs. one-off wins)
  • Secure multiple teaming agreements/SubKs with Federal Integrators pursuing large TCV contracts aligned with Take2 core competencies.  


  • Strategic Account Penetration
  • Successfully breaks into 2 new priority accounts (new logos) 
  • Expands footprint at 1 existing account (new program, new buying office, new contract vehicle)
  • Builds multi-threaded relationships (not reliant on single contact)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 11-16 years of professional experience in Federal IT Services is required


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience generating, leading, and winning pre & post-award subcontracting work and supporting Federal IT contracts at one or more of the following Federal clients and/or integrators: DOD, DHS, HHS
  • Strategic thinker with outstanding communication skills, oral and written and can lead a disciplined sales process
  • Proven relationships with large Federal system integrators and/or Federal DoD and Civilian government agency staff based upon excellent IT and/or talent support
  • Preferred experience with marketing and selling agile development, cloud, data analytics and/or cybersecurity support services.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and closing skills and demonstrated client focus.
  • Possess a strong drive for results and success; convey a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes and exceed expectations; persist despite obstacles, setbacks and competing influences.
  • Expert level proficiency with Federal contracting tools such as GovWin, Technomile, and HigherGov etc. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key business partners by building personal credibility and trust.
  • Demonstrated experience with the federal procurement process, capture, RFP support, contract ramp-up, pricing, and contract negotiations
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient personal computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, CRM tools)
