Huckberry

Job description

We're looking for a Director of Ecommerce: the strategist, operator, and steward of Huckberry.com. This is not a "strategy-from-the-sidelines" role; we need a leader who lives for conversion rate optimization, data-driven funnels, and the intersection of commerce, content, and community.

Reporting directly to the VP of Ecommerce, you'll help build the high-level digital vision and translate it into daily execution, managing the commercial plan and financial targets while leading a team to operationalize our "big boulder" initiatives. From auditing product detail pages to partnering with UX, Tech, Creative, and Marketing, you'll ensure every customer leaves Huckberry.com feeling inspired.

You'll operate with high autonomy, ready to step in for the VP, present to leadership, and own the digital experience that defines our brand.

Austin, TX preferred. We're open to hybrid arrangements for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth & Merchandising: Develop and execute forward-thinking digital merchandising strategies to exceed sales, margin, and profitability goals. You'll oversee the seasonal curation of stories (Homepage, Just Landed, and top pages) and manage the promotional calendar to ensure our POV is always "tip of the spear."
  • Experience & Conversion Optimization: Maintain a maniacal focus on CVR and LTV by owning the end-to-end journey on Huckberry.com. This includes optimizing site architecture (PDPs, PLPs, Navigation), driving personalization and segmentation strategies, and championing best-in-class product content-from photography standards to sizing tools-to increase purchase confidence and reduce returns.
  • Product & Data Engineering: Partner with Tech and UX teams to prioritize and ship revenue-driving site improvements. You will lead the A/B testing strategy, fostering a culture where data informs every major UX decision. You'll also integrate AI to automate reporting, generate actionable insights, and eliminate team redundancies.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the final standard-bearer for all digital and GTM campaign assets. You'll build and mentor a high-performing team while maintaining tight partnerships across Creative, Marketing, and Product to ensure a seamless, high-impact customer experience.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8-10 years in Ecommerce with 2+ years in senior leadership (direct P&L or revenue ownership).
    • You have a deep background in DTC, retail, or marketplace environments, ideally within lifestyle, apparel, or the outdoors.
  • Technical Mastery: A proven track record of driving measurable growth through structured CRO and data-driven UX.
    • You are an early adopter of AI, using it to kill redundancy and sharpen insights, and you have a solid grasp of digital marketing and how it fuels the funnel.
  • The "Huckberry" Mindset: You are an obsessed customer who shops the site for fun and can't help but notice how to make it better.
    • You are an entrepreneurial "owner" who leaves no "small boulders" behind and acts as a tireless custodian of our brand voice.
  • Leadership: You know what "good" looks like, and you raise the bar.
    • You have a history of building and mentoring high-performing teams, fostering a culture of extreme accountability and clear documentation.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with content-commerce hybrids (editorial + retail).
  • Management experience of performance marketing, email, and/or CRM
  • Background in curated multi-brand retail or headless commerce architectures.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits
  • 401(k) and employer match
  • Annual Huckberry shopping credits
  • Paid Sabbatical leave at 4 years
  • Summer Fridays
  • Weekly catered lunch
  • Monthly happy hours
  • Mental health resources
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Paid Vacation & Paid Sick Leave
  • Volunteer Time Off
  • Generous employee discount
  • WFH flexibility
  • Annual offsites
