JOB SUMMARY
A Campus Ministry student worker is responsible for assisting the Department of Campus Ministry in its general outreach and ministry to the Seton Hall University Community, specifically in the areas of office management, event planning/executing, and adult faith formation. The position-holder works closely alongside other Campus Ministry Staff including, the Director, Associate Director, and Campus Minister for Discipleship, and maintains regular office hours in the Campus Ministry Center.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for copying, sorting, filing, typing, answering messages, sorting mail, watering plants, and other general office environment tasks.
  • Assists the Campus Ministry and University Parish Secretaries in completing any and all office-related tasks, as needed.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and welcoming environment of all Campus Ministry spaces across campus.
  • Assists in setting-up and cleaning-up for meetings, regular programming, and other special events (including Open Houses, Orientation, etc.) in Campus Ministry spaces across campus.
  • Hangs and/or distributes various flyers, posters, brochures, and other Campus Ministry advertisements in public spaces and buildings across campus.
  • Updates, as needed, the Campus Ministry bulletin boards in each of the residential dorm buildings.
  • Helps plan, advertise, execute, and assess all community-building events in the Department of Campus Ministry.
  • Present at and assists in setting-up and cleaning-up all weekly Thursday Campus Ministry Night events.
  • Responsible for ordering any supplies/materials needed for community-building events.
  • Works with other campus partners in planning co-sponsored events.
  • Assists with hospitality and other special events after Sunday Evening Masses, as needed.
  • Maintains regular office hours in the Campus Ministry Center (the number of which determined in discussion with the Director and Associate Director of Campus Ministry).
  • Works with the Director of Discipleship to assess and address students' pastoral needs across the University Community.
  • Assists the Director of Discipleship in developing, planning, executing, and assessing student retreats.
  • Assists CSJ, FOCUS, and SPO with their respective adult faith formation and discipleship-growing events and programming, as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • **FEDERAL WORK STUDY (FWS) ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED**
  • Must be available on Thursday evenings, 6:00pm-10:00pm, each week.
  • Must be available to work at all Open Houses and Admissions events (including on weekends)
  • Must be available to work on Sunday evenings (6:00pm-10:00pm), when needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Should be familiar with the basic beliefs and liturgical practices of the Roman Catholic faith.
