POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Digital Payments develops strategy and vision for the digital payments function and aligns operational goals with the Bank's strategic objectives. This position monitors the payments industry and the trends and habits of our customers, confirming alignment with the Bank's strategic goals. The Director of Digital Payments ensures alignment with the Bank's strategic goals through cross-functional collaboration, system optimization, and team development. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company's values and supporting the mission.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop strategy and vision for the digital payments function
• Provide strategic oversight for all aspects of the digital payments function
• Mentor department leadership team, identify professional development opportunities and provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis
• Partner with the Learning & Development team to create targeted training programs for the ongoing development of team members and other employees
• Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify opportunities for action, and refine processes for continuous improvement
• Evaluate and optimize business systems and platforms, identifying opportunities for refinement and innovation
• Prioritize efficiency and effectiveness of payment operations through policy and procedural changes as needed
• Oversee the initiation and implementation of new directives, policies and procedures
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with various business units for alignment and increased understanding where necessary
• Define strategic KPIs and align department goals with organizational strategy
• Actively participate in JHA Relationship Team and other collaborative teams and efforts relevant to payment efforts
• Conduct regular 1:1s with Digital Payments Manager
• Assist department leadership with complex or escalated issues or concerns
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, and succession planning for key roles
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations
• Attend training as requested
• Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
• Participate in outside community activities as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
• 5 years of experience in payments to include online and mobile banking, ACH, ATM, debit card, credit cards, wires, etc.
• 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and fostering professional development
• Solid understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, audit standards and risk management relevant to digital payments preferred
• Strong knowledge of electronic payment products, services, operations and industry trends
• Ability to apply technical knowledge and expertise to electronic payment policies and procedures using knowledge of banking principles and practices
• Ability to strategically prioritize work efforts for self and management if needed
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills
