Mural Assistant information

What is a mural assistant?

Mural Assistants are individuals who support lead mural artists in creating large-scale artworks on walls or other surfaces. Their responsibilities often include preparing surfaces, organizing materials, mixing paints, and sometimes painting sections under the direction of the main artist. Mural Assistants help ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently while learning valuable artistic and technical skills. This role is ideal for those interested in collaborative art and gaining experience in public art projects.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a mural assistant?

To thrive as a Mural Assistant, you need foundational skills in drawing, painting, and surface preparation, often supported by experience in art or design. Familiarity with tools like brushes, scaffolding, projectors, and safety equipment is common in this role. Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail help you work efficiently with lead artists and adapt to changing project needs. These abilities ensure murals are executed safely, accurately, and in line with artistic vision and client expectations.

What are common challenges faced by mural assistants during large-scale projects, and how can they be addressed?

Mural Assistants often encounter challenges such as adapting to changing weather conditions, maintaining consistent quality over large surfaces, and managing logistical issues like scaffolding or material shortages. Working closely with the lead artist and team helps ensure clear communication and effective problem-solving. Being flexible, detail-oriented, and proactive about safety can help Mural Assistants navigate these challenges while supporting the successful completion of the mural.

Job description

Contracts Specialist
Mural Health is a fast-growing clinical technology start-up that makes clinical trials easier for participants. Our mission is to eliminate any barriers participants or caregivers experience while being part of a clinical trial. Mural Health is looking to expand our team with a Contracts Specialist.
Role Location: Remote US - EST Timezone Preferred
Reports To: Associate Director, Partnerships (Part of the Commercial Team)
You will:
  • Manage and track customer contracts and renewal terms, proactively identifying upcoming contract revision opportunities and expansion discussions, keeping a rolling pipeline and staying well ahead of deadlines.
  • Prepare and issue proposals and quotations for your assigned accounts - from initial outreach through signed execution - in close partnership with Customer Success, Finance, Patient Kindness and the commercial team.
  • Lead all client contract communications, serving as a trusted advisor to our clients on scope revisions, sharing documents in a timely manner, incorporating feedback, and keeping all parties informed and moving forward.
  • Assist in negotiating contract terms where applicable.
  • Manage amendments, scope changes, and expansion agreements with precision - maintaining organized records of customer interactions and requests, maintaining clear documentation and timelines, and ensuring accurate execution.
  • Identify and flag both high-risk customer issues and opportunities for contract expansion to the appropriate teams.
  • Identify themes and opportunities across the portfolio, and work to provide clear feedback and recommendations for next steps.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Contract Specialist, Renewals Specialist/Manager, or in a similar role in customer service or sales, ideally in B2B, life sciences, or healthcare technology.
  • Experience with CRM software and other sales tools
  • Excellent external communication and customer facing skills. You naturally translate pricing concepts into clear terms and communicate the value of the proposal you are sharing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with an attention to detail. You catch errors before they become problems, and you have systems that keep you (and your team) organized.
  • Self-directed and resourceful. You thrive with clear goals but minimal hand-holding, and you're comfortable asking questions when you need guidance.
  • Strong collaborator. You enjoy working cross functionally and are comfortable communicating with different internal stakeholders to ensure they are informed and aligned.

Base Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000
