Position Overview:
A rapidly growing commercial aquatics and facility operations organization is seeking a Director of Aquatic Operations to oversee a large-scale operational division supporting commercial pools, aquatic centers, staffing programs, maintenance operations, and client relationships throughout the region.
This individual will serve as a critical operational leader responsible for managing daily execution across multiple departments while helping stabilize and scale the organization for future growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, operationally strong, customer-focused, and capable of leading both seasonal and full-time teams in a demanding service environment.
The organization supports country clubs, municipalities, government facilities, and commercial aquatic operations, with oversight responsibilities spanning approximately 30-50 aquatic facilities and a seasonal workforce of roughly 500 employees.
This is not a highly corporate leadership role; the company is seeking a hands-on operator with resilience, accountability, ownership mentality, and the ability to lead from the front during peak operational periods.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day operations across aquatic management, maintenance, staffing, and customer service functions.
• Oversee seasonal workforce planning, scheduling, onboarding, and operational execution for large-scale staffing operations.
• Manage operational leaders, field employees, maintenance personnel, and administrative staff across multiple locations.
• Maintain strong client relationships with commercial, municipal, and private aquatic facility customers.
• Resolve operational issues quickly while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
• Support operational planning, process improvement, staffing strategy, and organizational scalability initiatives.
• Coordinate closely with executive leadership to improve operational efficiency and free senior leadership to focus on growth initiatives.
• Maintain availability during peak seasonal periods and support high-volume operational demands.
• Help drive accountability, performance standards, and team culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
• Strong operational leadership experience within commercial aquatics, facilities management, recreation, or related service industries.
• Experience managing large teams across both field and office environments.
• Background in aquatic operations, commercial pool management, parks and recreation, or multi-site service operations strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead both blue-collar and white-collar teams effectively.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong accountability and ownership mentality.
• Experience managing seasonal workforces is highly preferred.
• LGI (Lifeguard Instructor), CPO (Certified Pool Operator), or related aquatic certifications are preferred but not required.
• Military leadership, athletic leadership, coaching, or disciplined operational backgrounds are highly valued.
• No college degree required; leadership experience and operational success are prioritized.
