Job description

Title: Senior AWS Network Architect

Duration: 6 Months (3 Years Ext)

Location: Austin, TX 78751. The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework.

Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days (Mon, Wed, Thursday) required to be onsite at the location listed above.

Summary:

Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.

Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures supporting cloud transformation initiatives for the TEDS project. This role requires deep expertise in hybrid networking strategies, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises environments and cloud-native services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity patterns to integrate existing on-prem data center networks with AWS services.
  • Design secure, high-performance network architectures that meet compliance, governance, and business continuity requirements.
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to enable seamless migrations and optimize network operations.
  • Establish network governance standards and best practices to support long-term growth and evolving enterprise needs.
  • Ensure routing, segmentation, and security policies are aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Drive high availability and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical workloads.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8 years of Required Extensive experience in network architecture across AWS and on-premises environments.
  • 8 years of Required Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network segmentation, and firewall technologies.
  • 8 years of Required Hands-on experience with hybrid connectivity solutions (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway).
  • 8 years of Required Expertise in network security principles, including encryption, identity, and compliance frameworks.
  • 8 years of Required Proficiency in high availability design, load balancing, and failover strategies.
  • 8 years of Required Familiarity with network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD integration for infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

  • 8 years of Preferred Experience with multi-cloud networking (Azure, GCP) and cloud-native networking services.
  • 8 years of Preferred Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and advanced security models.
  • 8 years of Preferred Exposure to SD-WAN technologies and network observability tools (NetFlow, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
  • 8 years of Preferred Understanding of cost optimization strategies for cloud networking.
  • 8 years of Preferred Certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
