Job description

About Us:

Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to join a team that helps federal and commercial customers modernize how they operate? C2 Labs is always looking to enhance its staff with professional, talented individuals.

Culture

C2's success is driven by putting people first and holding ourselves to a high standard of ownership and results. We treat everyone on our team with respect, and we work hard to ensure everyone's success by providing leadership, training, mentorship, and development opportunities. Our competitive benefits and culture of integrity, professionalism, and excellence attracts top talent in the industry.

Missions

C2 Labs helps federal and commercial customers connect their systems, strengthen their cybersecurity and compliance posture, and automate their delivery workflows — turning technology investments into measurable, governed results. We support the mission of our customers through trusted partnerships and by creating tailored solutions that meet their needs and overcome the challenges created by the ever-evolving technology landscape.

Workforce Diversity

C2 Labs is committed to building and maintaining a diverse, inclusive team, and we hold ourselves accountable for creating equal opportunity for everyone who joins us. We do not talk about doing the right thing, we just do it.

About the role:

C2 Labs designs and operates technology-enabled federal solutions that combine automation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and compliance platforms, and managed operations. Protection Strategies Incorporated supports federal missions at scale and provides operational context and shared enterprise support. The companies remain distinct while working together to convert validated mission needs into measurable delivery improvements and reusable C2 capabilities.

The Director, Mission Solutions is the accountable integrator for assigned federal accounts and strategic partners. The Director connects customer needs, delivery performance, partner capabilities, organic account growth, and C2 solutions; establishes clear definitions of success; identifies risk early; and drives cross-functional problems to verified closure.

Role Purpose

The role exists to ensure that designated customers experience coordinated, accountable performance across company and partner boundaries. Success means healthier customer relationships, disciplined scope, faster problem resolution, stronger recompete and account-expansion positions, productive strategic partnerships, and fewer issues requiring CEO intervention. This is a hands-on leadership role that complements, but does not replace, the authority of program managers, delivery leadership, business development, contracts, or product and engineering leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assigned Accounts and Customer Outcomes: Serve as the accountable relationship integrator and executive sponsor for designated federal customers and accounts; establish account plans, stakeholder maps, customer-health cadences, and written definitions of success; and identify dissatisfaction, delivery risk, or expectation drift early so commitments are documented and closed.
  2. Delivery Assurance and Problem Resolution: Monitor the customer-facing health of assigned programs without displacing delivery or program leadership; lead cross-functional resolution when issues span delivery, product, contract, partner, or customer boundaries; and confirm corrective actions address root causes through verified closure.
  3. Engagement Governance and Scope Control: Ensure no enterprise deployment begins build without a sponsor-approved Project Charter and Requirements Document, or equivalent governing instrument; verify success measures, scope, boundaries, customer responsibilities, assumptions, acceptance criteria, and change-control processes are documented; and escalate expectation drift, uncompensated scope, or unclear acceptance before trust, schedule, or margin is damaged.
  4. Strategic Partnerships: Manage the operating cadence for assigned strategic partners, including joint account planning, co-selling, deal registration, enablement, and pursuit coordination; translate partner capabilities into credible customer outcomes; and recommend partner actions while leaving rights, economics, claims, designations, and contractual commitments with the CEO and counsel.
  5. Organic Account Growth and Capture Support: Identify validated adjacent mission needs within assigned accounts and help convert them into funded task orders, modifications, site expansion, or managed operations; provide customer perspective, evaluator insight, account intelligence, and mission context to business-development and proposal teams; and support capture and solutioning without owning enterprise pipeline generation, bid/no-bid authority, or proposal production.
  6. PSI-C2 Mission Integration: Identify recurring delivery problems or customer needs that may benefit from C2 automation, AI, workflow redesign, or managed solutions; help define the operational baseline, target outcome, customer acceptance criteria, and constraints for cross-company mission initiatives; and support conversion of validated results into reusable C2 capabilities, evidence, references, and intellectual property.
  7. Executive Reporting and Coordination: Provide concise, evidence-based reporting on account health, partner performance, delivery risk, customer commitments, and growth opportunities; maintain an integrated action and escalation view for assigned accounts; and reduce the time the CEO spends personally chasing account, partner, and cross-functional follow-through.

First 90 Days

  • Complete a structured review of assigned accounts, current commitments, stakeholders, customer sentiment, delivery risks, growth opportunities, and partner dependencies.
  • Assume executive sponsorship for the initial account portfolio and verify that approved charters or equivalent instruments govern active work.
  • Establish recurring customer-health and strategic-partner operating cadences with documented owners and due dates.
  • Publish a monthly account-health report covering satisfaction, delivery, scope, issues, expansion, references, and executive decisions required.
  • Deliver a written assessment of the most consequential customer, scope, partner, and growth risks, with specific corrective recommendations.
  • Assigned accounts have current relationship plans, stakeholder maps, satisfaction indicators, and documented commitments.
  • 100% of new enterprise engagements have sponsor-approved success, scope, responsibility, acceptance, and change-control documentation before build.
  • Customer issues crossing organizational boundaries reach verified closure within defined service and escalation expectations.
  • Out-of-scope and uncompensated effort is identified, measured, and resolved before it materially affects trust, schedule, or margin.
  • Validated adjacent mission needs in assigned accounts convert into qualified, funded opportunities and recurring revenue.
  • Strategic-partner activities produce measurable customer access, qualified opportunities, delivery support, and reciprocal value.
  • Assigned accounts maintain usable evidence files and customer-approved reference language when permitted.
  • CEO hours spent on account and partner follow-through decline as the Director assumes durable ownership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Substantial progressively responsible experience leading complex federal programs, mission delivery, customer relationships, or multi-organization initiatives of material scale.
  • Demonstrated accountability for stakeholder or customer outcomes at the program-executive or senior-government-official level, including difficult performance and escalation situations.
  • Experience managing or overseeing multi-vendor contractor teams and holding organizations to schedule, quality, scope, and documented commitments.
  • Working command of federal acquisition, including requirements development, proposal evaluation, task orders, modifications, and contract administration.
  • A track record of resolving problems across organizational boundaries with sound judgment, urgency, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Clear, credible written and verbal communication with federal executives, technical staff, partners, program teams, and company leadership.
  • Ability to travel regularly and to obtain and maintain required federal suitability or security eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Department of Energy, HHS, FBI, National laboratory, National Nuclear Security Administration, or comparable federal mission experience.
  • Familiarity with RMF, FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, ATO processes, continuous monitoring, or regulated federal technology environments.
  • Identity, credential, and access management or identity and access management program leadership.
  • Experience working with a technology partner, software provider, channel organization, or systems integrator.
  • Prior federal service or comparable federal customer experience, with applicable post-employment and ethical restrictions understood and documented.
