The Position

We are seeking a Strategic Consulting Manager to lead the US Roche Consulting Strategic team, partnering with our commercial organization to align strategic roadmaps between Roche and key customers. As the primary leader for US Strategic Consulting across all franchises, you will drive business growth by overseeing a high-performing team that shapes critical customer strategies, delivers measurable impact, and ensures we exceed revenue and long-term partnership goals.

Our Purpose: Roche Strategic Consultants partner with healthcare system leaders to turn clinical, operational, and financial strategy into sustainable action. Operating both inside and outside the laboratory, Strategic Consultants bridge the gap between clinical vision and operational execution to turn innovation into measurable financial value and lasting community impact.

How We Deliver: Strategic Consultants achieve this by co‑creating robust, data‑driven business cases that quantify the true value of Roche solutions. We empower healthcare leaders to make confident strategic decisions, manage complex organizational change, and foster powerful triple‑win collaborations across industry, providers, and government to improve patient outcomes and system prosperity.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Client Impact

  • Executive Engagement: Build and maintain C‑suite relationships to align Roche solutions and innovation with customer strategic roadmaps.
  • Strategic Delivery: Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects, synthesizing insights into compelling executive narratives.
  • Consulting Service Portfolio Leadership: Drive utilization of the Strategic Consulting portfolio, including Sizing Strategic Opportunities & Building Business Cases, Strategy Definition & Visioning, Business Model Innovation, and Disease Management Consulting.
  • Consulting Solution Design: Translate business challenges into actionable frameworks, focusing on outcomes‑based healthcare delivery enabled by Roche integrated solutions while shaping and driving RFP wins, in collaboration with the broader consulting team.
  • US Payer/Provider Dynamics: Apply deep understanding of IDNs (Integrated Delivery Networks), ACOs (Accountable Care Organizations), and MACRA/MIPS Reimbursement structures.

Team Management & Development

  • Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and coach high-performing consultants to elevate analytical capabilities and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Elevate Value: Integrate new Strategic Consulting tools, methodologies, and competencies by leveraging and localizing the Roche Consulting Strategic Consulting Learning Journey.

Operational & Ecosystem Excellence

  • Operational Leadership: Coordinate cross‑functional ecosystems (medical, policy, sales, Consulting, marketing) to drive implementation excellence and best practices.
  • Implementation Excellence: Serve as a catalyst for adoption and execution of new Consulting competencies, methodologies, and tools while contributing to global and local networks.
  • Global Support: Enable and support local implementation of outcome‑based proposals and projects in partnership with global consultants.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of indirect people or program/report leadership experience or direct management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years in management consulting, executive sales, corporate strategy, or related fields.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills; proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of matrix organizations and organizational dynamics; proven ability to build teams and manage diverse stakeholders virtually.
  • Deep expertise in the US healthcare ecosystem, including provider economics (IDNs), payer dynamics, and risk‑bearing entities; preference for Value/Outcome‑Based Healthcare experience and Diagnostics Industry.
  • Extensive experience in commercial functions in life sciences, diagnostics, pharma, or healthcare, or equivalent professional consulting.
  • Proven ability to influence C‑suite stakeholders; exceptional communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Understanding of Roche Consulting operations, processes, and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven ability to optimize team performance for sales and implementation.
  • Experience leading initiatives, facilitating workshops, and delivering measurable strategic outcomes.
  • Strong command of Lean and Six Sigma principles applied to healthcare and laboratory management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on problem‑solving, relationship‑building, and driving results in ambiguous environments.

This role is eligible for relocation benefits.

Our ideal candidate would reside or be willing to relocate to Indianapolis, Indiana to work a hybrid schedule at our Corporate Headquarters.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $133,300 - 247,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
