The Director of Learning and Development will operate in a complex, regulated insurance environment, with focuses on building scalable people capabilities, supporting leaders through change, and creating a culture of continuous learning and performance. The Director of Learning & Organization Development is responsible for leading and advancing enterprise effectiveness by strengthening leadership capability, organizational health, and workforce readiness. This role partners closely with executive leaders and HR to design and deliver integrated solutions across leadership development, talent development, culture, change management, and learning systems that enable business strategy. Over the next 12 months, this role is expected to balance strategic leadership at AssuranceAmerica with direct program ownership and execution while also serving as a hands-on leader during a period of growth and team scaling.

About the ROLE
At AssuranceAmerica the Director of Learning & Development in Human Resources, will lead key areas including:


Learning Strategy & Business Alignment
Serve as a strategic Organizational Development partner to senior leaders, diagnosingorganizational needs and designing solutions aligned to business strategy, growth andtransformation initiatives
Develop and execute an enterprise-wide learning strategy aligned withAssuranceAmerica's business objectives and culture which includes it's focus of "A Living Company".
Partner closely with HR and operational leadership to identify capability gaps and prioritizelearning solutions.
Ensure learning initiatives support operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, andcustomer experience.
Influence, strengthen, grow the production, profitability and partnership of our Agentpartners.
Build scalable frameworks and content that can be transitioned to the L&D team as capacityincreases.

Program Design & Execution
Own the design and evolution of leadership develop experiences for front-line leaders, mid-levelpeople managers and high-potential talent.
Spearhead and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of learning through strategic use ofInstructional Design and related systems, processes and technology.
Lead and effectively collaborate with team to administer new hire orientation, performancemanagement, key projects, and ad hoc requests while providing knowledge of relevant trends, bestpractices, regulatory changes, and modern technologies.
Directly design and deliver select learning programs during a period of team growth andtransition.

Team & Governance
Lead, coach and develop the Learning & Development team.
Establish performance expectations, priorities, and development plans for team members.
Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure learning content is accurate, relevantand compliant.

Manage external partners, coaches and vendors as extensions of internal capability.
Own budget prioritization to ensure spend is aligned to highest organizational value.

Leadership & Team Development
Partner with Talent Management to align developmental programs with performance management,succession planning and internal mobility.
Own the learning technology ecosystem including LMS administration and Workday.
Define and track KPI's to measure effectiveness, adoption, and business impact oflearning programs.

About YOU
Proven leadership experience within a service-oriented HR Department in a Learning andDevelopment or Training roles with demonstrated expertise in applying adult learning principles todrive effective learner engagement and performance outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering HR compliant training content, bothin-person and through e-learning platforms.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, includingexecutives, and senior management, to understand organizational needs and align traininginitiatives simultaneously.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Instructional Design, or a related field.

8 plus years of progressive experience in Learning & Development or Talent Developmentrole.
Experience leading an L&D team or function.
Demonstrated experience supporting operational, customer-facing or regulated workforces.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended bestpractices.
Professional oral and written communication communications.
Demonstrated record of collaboration, resilience, and perseverance through challengingenvironments.
Ability to travel 20% of the time.

Preferred
Master's degree in related discipline.
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
Professional certifications such as CPLP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR or ATD credentials.

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
