Position: Development Director
Reports to: President/CEO
Job Summary
Easterseals West Georgia is currently seeking a Development Director to give leadership, direction, and support of fundraising campaigns. This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts, special events, and annual campaigns. If you have experience in non-profit fundraising and development, including special event management, we encourage you to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, including cultivating individual, corporate, and foundation donors, as well as exploring new avenues for fundraising opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including current and potential donors, community leaders, and corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and board members to develop strategic fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and events.
  • Manage and steward a portfolio of existing donors, ensuring timely donor recognition and engagement.
  • Research and identify prospective donors, preparing compelling proposals and presentations to secure financial support.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, managing event logistics and volunteer engagement.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and analyze fundraising data to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance our development effort.

WORKING EXPECTATIONS:
• Staff will always exercise professionalism in the presence of participants, visitors, and other staff.
• Staff will ensure that all activities and conversations are always geared toward what is appropriate.
• To ensure quality of services provided, staff are expected to receive a rating of 20 (meets expectation) or higher on all performance reviews. Scoring under 20 will result in the staff member being placed on a 1-3-month probation until the level of quality is improved or termination may result.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully securing major gifts and developing sustainable donor relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing successful fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in donor management software and MS Office Suite
