Position Overview

The Director of Enterprise Architecture & Digital Enablement is responsible for establishing and leading Elliott Davis' enterprise architecture capability while serving as the firm's principal architect and strategic transformation advisor.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines business transformation, enterprise architecture, solution design, governance, modernization, and technology strategy. The Director will partner closely with firm leadership, service lines, operations, and technology teams to simplify processes, modernize platforms, standardize technology practices, and ensure investments are aligned to measurable business outcomes.

The successful candidate will initially serve as an individual contributor while building the architecture capability, influencing solution delivery standards, mentoring technical resources, and establishing the frameworks needed to support future growth. Over time, this leader will help develop additional architecture and digital delivery capabilities while leveraging external partners and strategic vendors as extensions of the team.

This role will help bridge the gap between business strategy and technology execution while ensuring the firm continues evolving toward a Human-Led, AI-Enabled Professional Services organization.

Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy

  • Establish and lead the firm's architecture function.

  • Support the enterprise technology roadmap.

  • Create adaptive architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance processes.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make strategic recommendations.

  • Drive application rationalization, simplification, and modernization efforts.

  • Reduce technical debt and improve long-term platform sustainability.

Business Transformation & Process Modernization

  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational challenges and opportunities.

  • Facilitate process simplification, standardization, and modernization initiatives.

  • Translate business objectives into scalable technology capabilities.

  • Help define business cases, expected outcomes, and value realization measures.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership on technology-enabled transformation.

Digital Delivery & Solution Excellence

  • Establish solution design and architecture review practices.

  • Improve the consistency, scalability, and supportability of delivered solutions.

  • Partner with product owners, project managers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

  • Provide architectural guidance across strategic initiatives.

Data, Integration & AI Enablement

  • Establish architecture patterns supporting data, integrations, automation, analytics, and AI.

  • Ensure technology investments support the firm's long-term AI and automation strategy.

  • Guide architecture decisions involving Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Fabric, Copilot, APIs, OTS solutions, and integration platforms.

  • Enable scalable and secure data sharing throughout the organization.

Team Development & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the firm's principal architect and lead solution advisor.

  • Refine SLDC processes and tooling.

  • Mentor developers, analysts, and technical resources to become stronger business-facing solution architects and consultants.

  • Build architecture and solution-thinking capabilities across the IT organization.

  • Influence technical direction without excessive reliance on organizational hierarchy.

Vendor & Strategic Partner Leadership

  • Lead technical discussions with software vendors, implementation partners, and consulting firms.

  • Establish partner governance and architecture expectations.

  • Ensure external solutions align with firm standards and long-term technology strategy.

  • Leverage partner expertise while maintaining internal ownership of architecture direction.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.

  • Strong background in enterprise applications, integrations, modernization, and architecture.

  • Experience building architecture capabilities or functions.

  • Experience partnering directly with executives and business leaders.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Fabric, Copilot, and modern SaaS ecosystems.

  • Professional services, consulting, accounting, legal, or other knowledge-worker business experience preferred.

Working Environment
