Job description

Overall Job Summary

This role will have a robust understanding of the digital business, will leverage analytics and data to identify and prioritize initiatives to drive performance, and ultimately drive accountability of directly managed and cross functional teams to evolve Tractor Supply's digital business into a best-in-class shopping experience for our customers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Responsible for sales and margin for all digital channels for the hardlines merchandising divisions ($500M+ sales plan)
  • Lead the process of reviewing business performance, diagnosing drivers, and prioritizing work across multiple dimensions to grow sales and margin
  • Leverage advanced analytical tools, outside data, and merchandising strategies to Identify and prioritize assortment expansion opportunities
  • Leverage competitive price intelligence and automated pricing algorithms to ensure price leadership, while delivering on margin targets
  • Leverage existing site functionality (homepage, landing pages, product recs, etc.) to deliver category strategies, ensure seasonal relevance, and help customers find items that meet their needs
  • Work closely with vendor partners to ensure strong online content for items and campaigns
  • Identify opportunities and influence product/UX teams to deliver new sitewide and category specific digital functionality needed to deliver on sales plans
  • Improve site content and partner closely with marketing  to identify opportunities to drive more qualified traffic (paid media, owned channels, earned channels/SEO) to digital properties 
  • Serve as a member of the Digital leadership team, helping educate and advocate for the role of Digital in our business, and to enable a more seamless customer journey across our properties
  • Work with the Digital leadership team to help define and prioritize our med-long term business strategy to ensure 2x growth over the next 5 years
  • Provide day to day management, strategic direction, mentorship, and development for a direct reporting team
Required Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of demonstrated success in a retail environment, with at least one of these areas:  Merchandising, eCommerce, Strategy.  5+ years leadership experience managing teams of direct reports

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  MBA preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered. 

Professional Certifications: None

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
  • Proven experience in a leadership role in e-commerce or retail.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of merchandising, site merchandising, product/UX, and digital marketing; and how to leverage these decision domain areas to drive results
  • Past experience and success in redefining processes, ways of working, and creative solutions that drive a step change in performance of teams
  • Experience managing teams, coaching for development, and building inclusive and empowered teams
  • Demonstrated success in past roles of influencing decision making, prioritization, and accountability of cross functional teams that do not report in directly
  • Ability to analyze data and financial reports to make informed business decisions
