Job description

Director Digital Banking/Money Movement

The Director Digital Banking/Money Movement provides strategic leadership and oversight of digital product initiatives for RBC's Banking & Lending business within US Wealth Management. They manage a team of Product Owners, align product strategy with banking objectives, and drive innovation across the digital client experience and lending solutions portfolio. This role focuses on incoming and outgoing transactions including ACH, Wires, Checks, Bill Pay through our cash management accounts as well as brokerage/advisory accounts. You'll work with vendors and internal development partners to ensure the best overall experience for our clients and advisors.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Strategic Leadership

  • Define digital product strategy for our banking platform and transaction processing, including ACH, Wires, Checks, and Bill Pay
  • Establish product roadmaps aligned with banking business goals and customer needs
  • Identify market opportunities in digital banking and payment solutions
  • Drive innovation in both customer and advisor facing platform experiences
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection frameworks

Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, mentor, and develop Product Owners focused on banking and lending solutions
  • Provide coaching on product strategy, regulatory requirements, and banking industry best practices
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations
  • Foster collaboration between product, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and business teams

Portfolio & Financial Management

  • Oversee digital banking product portfolio performance and ROI
  • Manage budget allocation across payment solutions, and customer tools
  • Prioritize investments based on customer value, revenue impact, and strategic fit
  • Present business cases to secure funding for digital transformation and product innovation
  • Monitor product profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiency

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Report to Digital leadership on product performance, market trends, and competitive positioning
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Banking/Lending Product team, vendors, IT/App Dev partners, compliance, and risk teams
  • Communicate product vision and roadmap across the organization
  • Represent product function in regulatory and strategic business discussions
  • Ensure alignment with RBC's broader digital and banking strategy

Process & Governance

  • Establish product management frameworks aligned with banking regulations and RBC governance standards
  • Implement decision-making structures for product launches and feature prioritization
  • Ensure compliance with federal banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and fair lending requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in product development processes while maintaining security and data privacy standards
  • Coordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Fraud Prevention teams on product initiatives
  • Support product documentation and audit requirements

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have

  • 12+ years of product management experience in financial services in money movement
  • 5+ years leading product management teams
  • Proven track record of scaling digital products in highly regulated banking environments
  • Strong understanding of banking industry, deposit products, credit products, and lending operations
  • Experience navigating regulatory compliance, risk management, and consumer protection in financial services
  • Excellent strategic thinking and executive communication abilities
  • Deep knowledge of agile and digital product development methodologies

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $140,000- $230,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
