Job description

Customer Operations Associate
We're hiring
Team: Customer Operations
Reports to: Director of Command & Revenue Operations
Location: West Valley City, Utah (Hybrid)
Employment type: Full-time, 40-hour workweek
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 base + performance incentive eligibility
About Calyx Containers
Calyx Containers designs and manufactures sustainable, compliant packaging for regulated industries. We're a fast-moving B2B manufacturer in the middle of an exciting transition: building a smarter, more scalable customer experience powered by our own technology. Customer Operations is the engine that keeps customers moving cleanly from quote to order to reorder, and it's evolving fast.
About the Role
This is a launchpad role for someone hungry to learn a complex industry from the inside. You'll start by jumping in wherever the team needs you, helping move orders, estimates, production ticket requests, sales orders, proofs, and customer updates across the finish line, and learning how every piece of our business fits together along the way.
You're joining at a pivotal moment. As we shift more of our work onto a software-based system, some of today's manual tasks will become automated, and this role will grow with that change, evolving toward customer onboarding, platform enablement, and higher-value account support. We're looking for someone who sees that as the opportunity it is: a chance to grow as the company grows, and to help shape a role that doesn't fully exist yet.
This is a true team-player role at a small company, where everyone wears multiple hats and the best ideas win. If you're energized by ambiguity, comfortable solving problems that don't have a playbook yet, and eager to prove yourself, this is a rare ground-floor opportunity.
What You'll Do

Jump in across the customer workflow, helping with orders, estimates, production ticket requests, sales orders, proofs, and customer updates as the team needs.

Learn our products, systems, and processes deeply, and become someone the team can hand things to with confidence.

Keep work moving accurately and on time, catching the small details that prevent big problems downstream.

Help customers get set up and active on our online ordering platform as we roll it out.

Use AI and software tools to work faster and smarter, and help us figure out better ways of doing things.

Keep customer and order data clean, complete, and current across our systems.

Take on new responsibilities as you prove yourself, growing toward account ownership and specialized roles on the team.
What Success Looks Like

You learn fast, ask good questions, and quickly become a reliable contributor the team leans on.

Work you touch is accurate, organized, and moves without surprises.

You spot problems early and bring solutions, even to challenges we haven't solved before.

You grow into greater ownership and a clear next step on the Customer Operations team.
What You Bring
Required

A genuine hunger to learn, grow, and build a career, this is a starting point, not a destination.

Truly exceptional attention to detail, you catch what others miss.

Comfort with ambiguity and a bias for solving problems that don't have a clear answer yet.

A collaborative, low-ego team-player attitude, ready to do whatever the moment needs.

Comfort using AI tools and learning new software quickly.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced small-company environment where priorities shift.

Clear communication and strong follow-through.
Preferred

Experience in manufacturing, packaging, print, or another build-to-order industry.

Exposure to order, quoting, estimating, or production workflows.

Any background, internship, or coursework that shows initiative and a drive to grow.
