Job description

As a Construction Manager, you will oversee construction of various transportation projects, working closely with Engineers, Designers, CADD, and Public Works/DOT personnel.
*This will start as a project-specific position with opportunity for retention. Travel is required.
  • Travel is required
  • Perform site walks at candidate selection and determine construction feasibility.
  • Work with A&E firms to coordinate all aspects of zoning and construction documents.
  • Conduct utility coordination meetings
  • Manage standards of construction for Customer / Client.
  • Inspect and approve construction projects.
  • Prepare punch lists as required.
  • Ensure all construction related milestones are entered into the project tracking.
  • Ensure that all applicable safety and regulatory requirements are followed and documented.
  • Deliver complete projects for market deployment in a timely manner to meet overall market goals and objectives.
  • General knowledge and understanding of the requirements to submit for building applications, construction drawings and documentation, and utility requirements.
  • Proficient in operating systems and applications including: MS Project, Windows, MS Office suite. P6 proficiency is desired.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
This position requires the operation of a company vehicle. All candidates must hold a valid driver's license and will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Employment is contingent upon meeting Horrocks' Fleet & Safety minimum requirements. Candidates will be asked to provide consent for the MVR check as part of the hiring process.
  • Experience processing building permits and ROW permits - not required
  • Ability to read and understand Utility as-built plans
  • Technical understanding/ability
  • Desire to succeed and learn new skills
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
  • Professional, creative, team-focused individual that works well with others in a team environment.
  • MSHA training is preferred, but willing to train candidates who meet qualifications
  • 5 years minimum of related work experience.
  • Preferred experience working with DOT
  • Associate's degree preferred; equivalent experience and training may be considered
