Job Summary and Qualifications
  • You will be responsible for facilitation and leadership of facility Clinical Informatics by leading the implementation of and providing ongoing support for corporate/ division/ facility projects related to the electronic health record (EHR) including: standardization; utilization; integration and optimization
  • You will  be responsible for development, coordination, support, completion of workflow mapping, project advancements, resources and implementation focused on Clinical Informatics initiatives. This includes (but not limited to) computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and documentation, EBCD, Meaningful Use and other technology that supports clinician workflow, Clinical Excellence scorecard and publically reported data such as Leapfrog
  • You will participate in the community of Clinical Informatics by working with facility leadership to ensure clinical applications are well supported throughout the facility
  • You will collaborate with the Vice President of Quality, Directors of Patient Safety, Ancillary Departments, Nursing Operations and Medical Staff Directors to drive quality outcomes
  • You will establish regular communication with facility Chief Nursing Officers (CNO’s) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO’s) and engage them as key contacts regarding process and review of workflow analysis to identify workflow improvements
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, clinical degree preferred with strong healthcare facility experience
  • Master's Degree preferred ideally with focus on Health Informatics
  • Current (per State) RN license for RN applicants; Nurse or Health Informatics Certification encouraged
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Clinical/ Healthcare Informatics, clinical applications support, or equivalent preferred
  • Meditech experience strongly preferred
  • Must have previous experience facilitating large projects which includes implementation of health technology
  • Required skills:  Understands pertinent regulatory guidelines such as Joint Commission, HIPAA, State Regulations, CMS, etc.
