This team of clinical pharmacists supports patients with hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and related complex conditions. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centered medication management; advancing clinical pharmacy practice; supporting staff development and performance; and promoting compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional standards. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership, physicians, nursing, and other interdisciplinary partners to optimize medication-use processes, implement quality and safety initiatives, develop and evaluate clinical programs, and advance organizational goals related to oncology care, research, and education.Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Pharmacy provides leadership and oversight for inpatient hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy services and supervises a team of hematology/oncology clinical pharmacists who practice in the inpatient and ambulatory care settings. Responsibilities include recruitment, orientation, professional development, performance management, and evaluation of the hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist team; identification and resolution of service needs and practice challenges; advancement of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice; oversight of pharmacist privileges, and competencies, and support of departmental financial management and budgeting. The Assistant Director participates in the development and implementation of departmental strategic priorities; leads the development and implementation of clinical programs, pathways, policies, and medication-use initiatives related to inpatient hematology/oncology care; and collaborates with interdisciplinary partners to advance patient care, medication safety, clinical practice, research, and education. This position also supports the implementation and evaluation of new programs and services, provides clinical staffing as needed, and promotes professional development and educational opportunities for pharmacists, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
