Job description

Refuel Agency is seeking an experienced Director of Channel Management who will report to the VP, Integrated Media Operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of media and marketing deliverables produced by external strategic partners across multiple client accounts, ensuring work is delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and to quality standards. The Channel Manager serves as an operational liaison among internal teams, clients, and partner organizations. Key responsibilities include driving accountability, clarifying and managing scope, strengthening workflows, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across diverse client portfolios. This position is ideal for someone with a track record of managing vendors or strategic delivery partners in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Partner & Execution Management:

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with strategic external partners delivering media and marketing services.
  • Oversee delivery across services, including:
    • Content development
    • SEO strategy and implementation
    • Website development and maintenance
    • Creative services
    • Digital campaign support
    • Other outsourced marketing or media deliverables
  • Ensure partner deliverables support client objectives and meet internal standards for quality, timelines, and budget.
  • Track execution progress and proactively surface risks, delays, and quality concerns.
  • Hold partners accountable to deadlines, scope, and service-level expectations.

Project & Workflow Coordination:

  • Coordinate multiple concurrent client projects across internal teams and external partner channels.
  • Develop and manage timelines, project plans, status trackers, and delivery calendars.
  • Lead kickoffs, recurring status meetings, and follow-up communications to keep workstreams on track.
  • Confirm briefs, assets, approvals, and requirements are clearly documented and communicated to partners.
  • Drive operational consistency across partner engagements and identify opportunities to improve execution efficiency.

Quality Assurance & Performance Oversight:

  • Review partner work for completeness, strategic alignment, and quality prior to delivery or internal review.
  • Define and reinforce best practices for workflow management, documentation, and partner communication.
  • Support partner performance measurement across timelines, deliverable quality, responsiveness, and overall execution outcomes.
  • Escalate recurring issues and recommend process improvements or adjustments to resourcing.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Serve as the primary contact between internal media, strategy, account, creative, and production teams and external service partners.
  • Provide concise status reporting to leadership, including the SVP, Media Operations.
  • Escalate issues as needed and recommend solutions that minimize disruption to client deliverables.
  • Support internal teams by aligning partner capabilities and capacity to project requirements.

Operational Support

  • Help define scopes of work, delivery processes, and execution expectations for external partners.
  • Maintain well-organized project documentation, partner records, status reporting, and post-project learnings.
  • Support partner onboarding, workflow documentation, and process improvements as the organization scales.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

· BS or BA required; master’s degree a plus.

· Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, partner/vendor management, account operations, media operations, or digital marketing execution.

· Demonstrated success building strong relationships and managing external agencies, freelancers, vendors, or strategic service partners.

· Strong understanding of digital marketing execution (e.g., SEO, content production, website development, creative services, and media/campaign operations).

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.

· Ability to identify operational gaps and solve problems quickly and effectively.

· Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana).

· Experience in agency, media, or marketing services environments.

· Familiarity with creative approval workflows, web production cycles, and SEO deliverables.

· Experience supporting multi-client delivery environments.

· Understanding of scopes, budgets, and resource planning.
