JOB SUMMARY:

The Cardiovascular Director is responsible for overseeing and directing the ambulatory cardiovascular service line including the Cardiology Clinic and the Heart Catheter (Cath) Laboratory (lab).  The Director participates in decision-making related to service line business strategy and operations.  The Director is responsible for measurable service line growth, quality of patient care, efficiency of operations, financial management of the service line, and strategic planning.The Cardiovascular Director shall be directly responsible for the following departments and staff: Cath Lab – hospital, Cardiology Clinic, Heart & Vascular Imaging Cardiology clinic, Stress Testing – hospital & Cardiology practice, Heart & Vascular Outreach Team, and Cardiopulmonary Rehab.The Cardiovascular Director shall assist with establishing interactive communication and coordination with all hospital departments & physician practices, with special attention to the following: E.D., Intensive Care Units & physicians, Imaging, Hospitalists, and Primary Care practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Satisfactory work experience, demonstrating ambulatory cardiovascular knowledge and skill, interest, leadership, and willingness to accept responsibility. 
  • Business acumen required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cardiovascular required.
  • Two years management experience required.
  • Knowledge of billing systems.
  • Clinic and Cath lab experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Preferred licensed to practice as a nurse in Oklahoma.
  • Special ability to communicate with physicians

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients and patients’ families.
  • Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule.
  • Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some light lifting and bending.
  • Demonstrates adequate vision to prepare and process information, supervise practice of employees, and monitor the environment.
  • Must be able to talk and hear to converse with others, in person and over the telephone.
  • Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete necessary work schedule.
  • Able to work in latex burdened environment.
