Job Description

P&G is the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world. We have operations in over 75 countries, with 65 trusted brands that improve lives for 5 billion consumers worldwide. This brings many advantages, including the opportunity for our employees to enjoy a diverse and rewarding lifelong career filled with new and exciting challenges.

P&G Ventures is tasked with creating new brands and businesses in categories where P&G does not currently play. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and experienced professional to lead communications.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a creative and driven leader who stays ahead of culture and trends and can weave these authentically into the business planning process. Your goal is to lead social and digital first. This requires a completely different approach, of which communications will be at the forefront. The ideal candidate possesses a high degree of independence, a "builder" mindset, and the ability to operate effectively amidst ambiguity while defining a new market space.

Important Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications Planning & Business Counsel: Lead overall PR and communications planning for brand/initiatives launches and go-to-market phases. Proactively define and execute communications strategies and assets, aligning them with commercial leaders and cross-functional partners. Provide strategic counsel to shape internal organizational communications and drive external executive thought-leadership.

Integrated Brand Building with a Focus on PR & Earned Media: Define and drive breakthrough earned media campaigns to build awareness, education and credibility in a new product category for P&G. Cultivate and maintain relationships with top-tier consumer, business, and trade media to secure high-value placements. Integrate traditional PR - including narrative development, press office management, and issue/crisis mitigation with brand digital strategies to amplify the brand voice and protect brand reputation.

Digital & Social Strategy: Establish and scale the brand's digital and social footprint to reach early adopters and target consumers. Partner with marketing and media teams to design and execute social commerce initiatives that convert digital engagement into measurable business results. Monitor emerging digital, cultural, and consumer trends to natively integrate relevant industry topics into the brand’s social content and community management strategies. Overall responsibility for community management on brand-owned channels.

Influencer, KOL & Stakeholder Strategy: Develop and implement a foundational Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and influencer program to drive brand trial, organic engagement, and ROI. In this unique launch model, influencers and celebrities will play a disproportionate role in driving our go-to-market strategy. Identify, engage and build relationships with a diverse network of strategic external contacts to support business objectives. Cultivate long-term partnerships with vital stakeholders including NGOs, industry experts, consumer associations, and retail partners to build a network of authentic brand advocates, consultants and third-party credentials.

Measurement, Analytics & Agency Management: Select and manage external PR/communications agency partners. Measure, analyze, and report the results of communications activations on an ongoing level. Oversee budget allocation, contract optimization, and performance reporting to ensure maximum ROI on communications spend.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 8-10 years of professional experience in Brand Communications, PR, or related fields. Experience launching new brands, working in a startup environment, or scaling businesses within a corporate venture arm is highly preferred.
  • Proven Leadership and Strategic Influence: A self-starter who can effectively define a strategic vision from a blank slate while juggling multiple urgent priorities. Must be able to influence senior leadership and navigate a matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills. Ability to translate complex product innovations into compelling, consumer-friendly narratives, write agency briefings, and oversee the development of all communications materials.
  • Cultural Fluency & Trend Spotting: Strong interest in media, digital, and consumer trends. A deep understanding of "pop culture," the evolving influencer/social media landscape, and relevant industry topics (e.g., sustainability, ingredient safety).
  • Integrative, Strategic Thinking and Agility: Ability to combine digital PR, influencer management, and digital media to activate holistic plans, coupled with the analytical skills to measure impact and continuously improve. Candidates must feel comfortable with change, flexing to meet the demands of a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and handling a reasonable amount of travel.
  • Collaboration Skills: Outgoing and thrives when working with multiple cross-functional partners (Brand, R&D, Legal, Media). A track record of developing proactive and productive relationships with colleagues and agencies.
