Job description

Job Overview: Director for Late Phase clinical trials, responsible for leading and executing the business development strategy focused on Phase II - IV stages of clinical trials. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive growth, build client relationships, and oversee successful acquisition and management of projects within late phase clinical trials areas.

Focused therapeutic areas : Metabolic, Hepatology, Cardiovascular & Respiratory

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

    1. Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth and expand the market presence of the Late Phase studies.
    2. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly.
    3. Set short-term and long-term goals for the business development team aligned with the overall organizational objectives.

Client Relationship Management:

    1. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, sponsors, and industry partners.
    2. Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are consistently met and exceeded.
    3. Organize and attend client meetings, presentations, and conferences to promote the company’s capabilities and services.

Business Development:

    1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, collaborations, and new client acquisitions.
    2. Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals tailored to potential clients, highlighting the unique value proposition of the  Late Phase clinical trials services.
    3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organization.

Team Leadership:

    1. Lead, mentor, and manage the business development team.
    2. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development to team members.
    3. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Project Oversight:

    1. Oversee the proposal development process, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality submissions.
    2. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
    3. Monitor project progress and address any issues or challenges that arise.

Reporting:

    1. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to business development activities, including lead generation, conversion rates, revenue growth, and client satisfaction.
    2. Provide regular updates to senior management on business development progress, achievements, and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development within the CRO industry with a focus on Late Phase clinical trials.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading business development teams and achieving growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trials and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
