Job Title
Assistant Director - Admissions
Nature of Work
Assist in the development and implementation of a student recruitment strategy with specialization in a focus area. Involves recruiting students, recording student data, and travel.
Examples of Work Performed
Develop and implement student recruitment and support strategies and assign territories for Admissions and Senior Admissions Counselors
Set goals for their team and assist the Director in tracking and analyzing prospect, recruitment and student data to meet recruitment outcomes set by the college
Implement student recruitment and support strategies for assigned territories or recruitment area/group.
Meet enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment area
Report progress of recruitment efforts on a regular basis
Identify strategies for both campus-based as well as online students
Identify strategies for traditional aged incoming students, as well as for non-traditional student populations
Present and promote the College and the Admissions profession in a positive way
Create and maintain relationships with community-based organizations as relates to focus area
Coordinates and participate in recruitment events; including face to face and virtual events
Plan and coordinate recruitment activities and programs including but not limited to, summer orientation, tele-counseling, and group visits
Counsel with prospective students and their families to encourage campus visits as well as apply for admission
Develop an effective working relationship with community college staff
Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with students regarding the status of their applications for admission
Assist students with college application and admission process
Assist with new student registration programs
Extensive travel, evening, and weekend hours required
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
2 years' experience working with diverse, first generation, and/or underrepresented populations, or 2 years work experience in admissions or sales
Willingness to travel to regional areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Public speaking skills that include experience with diverse populations
Experience in college admissions, public relations
