Direct Care Staff Job Description
The Direct Care Staff position you will play a key part of fulfilling our mission to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. This is a part time position. We invite you to bring your exceptional skills and experiences to the Transitional Training Program (TTP) in this extremely rewarding role.
In the role of Adult Day Instructor you will:
• Provide direct one-on-one or group instruction to adults with special needs (ages 18+).
• Provide hands-on assistance with self-care toileting (as needed).
• Assist with activities that are designed to emphasize communication, social skills, and emotional health in the vocational setting and/or classroom.
• Have the ability to manage and adapt to challenging behavior(s) from client(s) in accordance with TTP policies and criteria.
• Support improved leisure, recreation skills and independence.
• Instruct, supervise and role model appropriate skills in volunteer setting for the clients being served.
• Transport of clients to their community activity location and/or home as either a Driver (I) or Transportation Assistant (II).
Supervisory Roles
• Direct Care staff are required to supervise clients served at all times.
• Direct Care staff are supervised by the Lead Direct Care Staff, Administrative Assistant, Administrator, and/or Director.
Essential Job Requirements for the Adult Day Instructor are:
• Commitment and dedication to TTP's mission and core values.
• Compassion for and desire to work with developmentally disabled clients.
• Record accurate program and behavior data.
• Maintain client's program goals
• Ability to communicate successfully with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.
• One year relevant training and/or experience in the field of human services is preferred.
• Experience working directly with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Completion of all health requirements including TB required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Driver's License is preferred.
• Fingerprint Clearance and background check required.
• Be able to lift 50lbs at a minimum
• Subject to pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing if hired.
• Valid and current CPR/First Aid required

After School Program hours
12:45-5:30pm (Drivers)
1:30-5:30pm (Non-Drivers)
