ProSidian Consulting has an opportunity for a Logistics Support Services (LSS) Operations Support Manager located in Charlotte, NC | POSTING TYPE: THIS IS A FULL-TIME W2 HIRE. 

ProSidian Consulting is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager (LOM) to support the Logistics Support Services (LSS) Program Manager, provide oversight of all activities related to Fulfillment and Order Tracking, and assist the Warehouse Manager as needed. In addition, the Logistics Operations Manager may be required to travel and provide conference support two or three times a year. This role may include website and process training.

This role is responsible for day-to-day project management and ensures quality in packing, shipping, distribution, and receiving processes as well as organizing key information structures. The ProSidian Consulting Logistics Operations Manager shall be responsible for the overall management, coordination and performance of the work under a Federal government Contract for services and shall be empowered with authority to make field decisions which may arise in day-to-day operations without undue delay.  

Logistics Support Services (LSS) Program Management is complex and covers many unique facets, including but not limited to: assisting clients with shipping, receiving, and delivering supplies, materials and equipment, and maintain inventory control and records related work. 

This may also include new product and program development based upon client requirements, perfecting the warehouse inventory system and website, working onsite in support of various client events, managing planning and fulfillment of marketing items for large scale training and conference events, managing the warehouse team - ensuring accuracy in shipment and billing. 

The Logistics Support Services (LSS) Operations Support Manager (LOM) role supports the Program Manager (PM) and provides leadership and oversight support for of the complete order fulfillment process, behind the scenes event management planning, and working with the graphic designers in creation and management of direct mail, print and digital marketing materials and relationships involving them. The Operations Support Manager is responsible for time sensitive material in an environment where accuracy, efficiency, and communication skills are of paramount importance. 

The Operations Support Manager also supports The Program Manager (PM) also leads safety and security including Facilities and Security Clearance on behalf of ProSidian Consulting. Key job duties include providing strong project and program management skills, documenting programs accurately, providing team management, coordination and timely execution. We hire only experienced professionals and foster an environment of cooperation and collaboration where everyone is at a high level. 

This role includes responsibility for day-to-day order fulfillment and tracking; pick, pack and ship verification; kit assembly; process documentation; reporting; trouble-shooting; and is the primary contact with shippers. The LOM must be a highly-motivated professional with great communication skills, the ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

Logistics Operations Manager Qualifications

  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified with experience in managing day-to-day operations and ensure quality in packing, shipping, distribution and receiving processes.
  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified with experience to support the Program Manager and other members of the team on initiatives for vendor relations, continuous improvement of existing processes, and development of consistently more competitive pricing arrangements for client product inventory.
  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified with experience to provide oversight support, leadership, and support for tactical day to day operations in a warehouse environment when necessary and in support of the Program Manager.
  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified to enhance current and new vendor relations, continuous improvement with existing processes, and competitive pricing arrangements for product inventory.
  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified with experience to provide oversight support and support for tactical day to day operations in a Warehouse Environment.
  • The Logistics Operations Manager must be qualified with experience in process improvement to provide continuous improvement with existing processes and be able to document and train on those processes.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to multi-task, be willing to assist with any task required to support the project and function well in a small team environment.
  • He/she must be able to work effectively at all levels of the organization, be results oriented, have strong analytical and decision-making abilities and be a creative problem solver.

Logistics Operations Manager Skill Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project
  • Excellent inventory and project management skills are required for this job.
  • Proven experience in logistics, and fulfillment operations.
  • High level of attention to detail, well organized, good prioritization skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of logistics, and fulfillment operations including packing, shipping, distribution, and receiving processes
  • Strong project management skills within marketing, logistics, and fulfillment
  • Good communication abilities are required to effectively negotiate with vendors as well as supervise and motivate the fulfillment staff.

Key Logistics Operations Manager Job Duties

  • Manage day-to-day fulfillment activities and ensure quality in picking and packing, shipping and order tracking.
  • Work any fulfillment issues that may arise, including communications with the shippers.
  • May be involved in training users and provide training documentation.
  • Process improvement and documentation.
  • Provide strong project and program management skills, documenting programs accurately and providing team management, coordination and timely execution
  • Manage day-to-day project management and can ensure quality in packing, shipping, distribution, and receiving processes as well as organizing key information structures.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of each program
  • Accurate forecasting of expenses and ability to manage a budget
  • Oversight support for public and stakeholder (military) facing websites including content management, design input, troubleshooting, testing, reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and distribute site reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Logistics Operations including time lines, production, budgets and status reports
  • Other tasks in support of the marketing, logistics, and fulfillment operations
  • Inventory planning and guaranteeing orders are efficiently processed
  • Interaction with vendors to guarantee fluid, up-to-date inventory of goods
  • Monitor warehouse processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity
  • Contract with enough vendors so that customer demands will be met without interruption.
  • Regularly support the preparation of and management for budgets for review and approval by upper management.

Logistics Operations Manager Working Conditions

  • A fulfillment manager typically divides time between office and the warehouse. The warehouse is a flex space and has full office functionality with warehouse delivery capability in back, a uniform facade, ample parking space for clients and employees in front with professionally landscaped surroundings
  • Standard office hours are 8:30 to 17:30, however, the LOM must be able to meet the needs of the client which may include differing and/or longer hours and possibly some weekend hours.
  • Office time is usually devoted to vendor negotiations and tracking inventory movement via computer.
  • Warehouse time spent supporting and working with warehouse operations to prepare and package orders for timely shipment.
  • May be required to walk or stand to observe processing and packing procedures.
  • Overtime occasionally may be required to resolve inventory or shipping issues.
  • Professional business attire is expected for this position.
  • Business casual attire is expected for this position.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field and/or 5 or more years' work experience
  • Knowledge gained from previous inventory or fulfillment management jobs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken for presentations
  • Organized with a sharp eye for detail with ability to document using clear, concise and grammatically correct language
  • Proven effective leader; ability to manage projects with both small and large work teams 
  • Ability to broker differences and manage conflict well
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing requirements
