About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Technician to serve as a hands-on technical leader within our high-volume photo studio. This role balances on-set execution with process ownership, documentation, and technical consistency across shoots, teams, and brands.The Senior Digital Technician will function in both working and managing capacities ensuring reliable workflows, equipment readiness, and consistent standards across productions.What You'll Do
On-Set Digital Technician
  • Oversee and execute on-set capture workflows for photography and video assets.
  • Collect, edit, name, and process all on-set imagery according to studio standards.
  • Collaborate closely with photographers and stylists to ensure color accuracy and image consistency.
  • Perform on-set quality assurance, including color management and monitor calibration.
  • Capture and edit video assets on set as required.
  • Set up and manage capture stations, monitors, and peripherals daily.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on set in real time to maintain production flow.
  • Assist photographers with equipment setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Support production, creative, and marketing teams during figure shoots.

Process Ownership & Consistency
  • Own and maintain standardized digital capture workflows across all shoots.
  • Ensure consistent application of file naming, folder structures, color pipelines, and delivery standards.
  • Partner with studio leadership to identify workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for technical and workflow issues on set.
  • Mentor and guide Digital Technicians, setting expectations for best practices and execution.
  • Support onboarding and training of new Digital Technicians, ensuring consistent technical competency.

Documentation & Systems
  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including:
    • Capture workflows
    • Color management standards
    • Equipment setup guides
    • Troubleshooting playbooks
  • Ensure documentation remains current and accessible to all Digital Technicians and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Production, Creative, Post) to align documentation with evolving processes.

Equipment & Infrastructure Stewardship
  • Oversee day-to-day equipment readiness and maintenance, including cameras, computers, capture stations, and peripherals.
  • Partner with studio leadership on equipment planning, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure consistent configuration of systems across stages and shooting environments.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks related to equipment or infrastructure before they impact production.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years experience in a high-volume photo studio environment.
  • 5+ years experience as an on-set Digital Technician.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced expertise in Capture One.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and video capture workflows.
  • Strong understanding of color management and calibration practices.
  • Technical expertise in Macintosh hardware and software.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, FileMaker, and Canon camera systems.
  • Phase One Certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to document complex technical processes clearly.
