Job description

The Department of Marketing and Logistics in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) at the University of North Georgia (UNG) invites applicants for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Marketing starting in fall 2027 semester. Summer 2027 teaching may be available. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses primarily on the Dahlonega campus, as well as graduate courses for the MBA program.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide high-quality Marketing and Digital Marketing courses.
  • Engage beyond the classroom with students as faculty academic advisor and as advisor to student clubs and/or related activities to showcase student achievements.
  • Engage in significant and sustained scholarship related to Marketing & Digital Marketing.
  • Engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business.
  • Participate as an active, contributing member to the service activities of the College
Required Qualifications
  • Education: An earned doctorate degree in Marketing and areas related to Digital Marketing, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution, required at the time of hire. An ABD nearing completion with documentation of degree completion is also eligible to apply.
  • Required Experience: Recent substantive and significant scholarship relevant to Digital Marketing and related Marketing fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who have a record of excellent teaching in the areas of Marketing/Digital Marketing and commitment to business education. Preference will also be given to those with Digital Marketing and related certifications, and industry experience relevant to Digital Marketing area.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of teaching and learning practices; knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts of Digital Marketing and Marketing; ability to demonstrate best practices of written and oral communication; ability to work as part of a collaborative team; passion for working with students to develop their skills and expertise.
