What Is a Digital Marketing Analyst?

A digital marketing analyst focuses on web analytics, social data, and trends in the digital market. Your responsibilities include social media and other online research, content development, trend analysis, and data tracking. You perform research to develop content strategies, enhance SEO, and identify link-building opportunities online. Marketing analyst duties also involve advising companies of industry trends, creating presentations to share findings, and designing digital marketing plans. Jobs in this field focus on using digital tools, platforms, and technology to meet sales and marketing goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Digital Marketing Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Marketing Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in marketing concepts, and a relevant degree in marketing, business, or data analytics. Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Excel, and data visualization platforms, as well as certifications such as Google Analytics or Google Ads, is highly valued. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and collaborating with teams. These skills and qualifications enable accurate campaign analysis, data-driven decision-making, and successful optimization of marketing strategies.

What are some common challenges a Digital Marketing Analyst faces when interpreting campaign data?

Digital Marketing Analysts often encounter challenges such as integrating data from multiple platforms, ensuring data accuracy, and distinguishing meaningful trends from normal fluctuations. It's common to work with large datasets that may contain inconsistencies, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Collaborating closely with marketing, creative, and technical teams is essential to understand campaign goals and to provide actionable insights, which can sometimes be difficult if objectives are not clearly defined. Adapting to rapidly changing digital trends and tools also keeps the role dynamic and requires continuous learning.

Job description

Digital Marketing Analytics Lead
Why 360training
At 360training, weโ€™re more than an online training providerโ€”weโ€™re on a mission to empower people and organizations to thrive. As a fast-growing leader in online and live training across multiple industries, we deliver regulatory-approved training and certifications that power careers and businesses.
Our culture is grounded in two values: Deliver Results and Do the Right Thing. We operate as a collaborative, performance-driven organization where data plays a critical role in shaping strategy and outcomes. If youโ€™re excited to turn analytics into impact and influence meaningful decisions, 360training is the place for you.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Digital Marketing Analytics Lead to play a critical role in driving insight, strategy, and decision-making across our multi-million-dollar eCommerce business.
This is not a report-building or data handoff role. This position owns marketing analytics end-to-endโ€”transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that directly influence revenue, profitability, and growth. You will partner closely with senior marketing and business leaders, helping shape strategy through data-backed recommendations and thought leadership.

Who This Role Is For
This role is for a seasoned analytics professional who thrives at the intersection of data, business strategy, and marketing performance. You have deep experience translating complex digital marketing and eCommerce data into insights that influence leadership decisions. You are comfortable owning analyses from question definition through recommendation, not just delivering dashboards. You enjoy partnering with senior stakeholders and leading analytics conversations with confidence and clarity. You are energized by ambiguity, enjoy problem-solving, and proactively surface opportunities without waiting to be asked. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow as an analytics leader within marketing and eCommerceโ€”not as a transition to product management or data engineering.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Serve as a strategic analytics partner to marketing leadership, influencing decisions that drive revenue growth, efficiency, and profitability
  • Own marketing analytics end-to-end, from data extraction and validation through insight generation and executive-level recommendations
  • Create insight-first dashboards and reports in Power BI that go beyond visualization to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Diagnose complex performance issues across paid media, UX, funnel conversion, customer journey, and channel mix
  • Independently identify and investigate performance changes (e.g., revenue drops, ROAS shifts, conversion declines) using structured problem-solving approaches
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for senior, non-technical stakeholders
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across multiple data sources, including analytics platforms, data warehouses, and CRM systems
  • Act as a subject matter expert on marketing and eCommerce data assets, enabling stakeholders to make better, faster decisions
  • Support the evolution of analytics maturity across the organization by setting a high bar for rigor, insight, and impact
  • Serve as lead analyst for marketing analytics, with potential to manage or mentor 2โ€“3 analysts

What Success Looks Like in This Role
Success means becoming a trusted analytics partner to marketing and executive leadership. Your insights consistently influence decisions that improve revenue, paid media performance, and conversion efficiency. Dashboards and analyses you own are relied upon to guide action, not just monitor performance. You proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities before being asked and clearly explain their business implications. Senior stakeholders trust your judgment and look to you for clarity on complex performance questions. Over time, you help elevate how analytics is used across 360training by shifting the organization from reporting to insight-led decision-making.

What You Bring
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Math, Marketing, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience analyzing eCommerce, digital marketing, and paid search performance, with a track record of translating data into recommendations with revenue impact
  • Proven experience delivering insights that directly influenced revenue, profitability, or growth decisionsโ€”not just operational efficiency or automation
  • Deep understanding of paid media performance, conversion funnels, and acquisition economics
  • Strong SQL skills (2โ€“3 years) for extracting, manipulating, and validating data
  • Advanced experience with Power BI (or Tableau) for building insight-driven dashboards
  • Experience working across multiple data sources (e.g., Google Analytics, BigQuery, Salesforce)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate insights and recommendations to senior business leaders through clear, structured storytelling
  • Lead the marketing analytics function day-to-day, mentoring analysts andโ€”when applicableโ€”managing 2โ€“3 direct reports (coaching, prioritization, development, and quality standards)
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and minimal direction; proactively identifies what analyses are needed.
We Offer Great Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and annual bonus
  • Paid Time off and company recognized holidays
  • Health amp; Medical Supplemental coverage
  • Dental Coverage
  • Emergency Travel Coverage
  • Mental Health amp; Virtual Care
  • Life amp; Accidental Coverage
