Job description

The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Administrator serves as the enterprise administrator and subject matter expert for Sidley Austin's Bynder DAM platform. This role is responsible for global asset governance, metadata architecture, platform configuration, user administration, and secure content distribution across the firm. Operating within the Enterprise Multimedia Department, this position ensures digital media assets are accurately classified, rights-compliant, securely managed, and readily accessible to authorized stakeholders. This role balances technical platform administration with governance oversight and user enablement, supporting brand integrity, operational efficiency, and client confidentiality in a highly regulated professional services environment.
Platform Administration & Governance

  • Administer and configure the Bynder DAM platform, including metaproperties, taxonomy structures, user roles, and workflows.

  • Develop and maintain controlled vocabularies and metadata schemas aligned with enterprise standards.

  • Implement and enforce asset lifecycle management, archival protocols, and version control best practices.

  • Support platform roadmap enhancements in collaboration with Multimedia leadership and Applications.

Asset Management

  • Expertlyperform day-to-day management of digital assets,including custom taxonomy construction and the application of accurate, relevant, and consistent metadata schemas.

  • Lead asset audits, metadata mapping, and enterprise migration initiatives.

  • Oversee ingestion of assets from legacy storage systems, on-premises servers, and external drives.

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy during migration and ongoing management.

User & Security Administration

  • Manage role-based access controls and permission groups.

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of users in alignment with firm security protocols.

  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality standards, digital rights management, and global privacy regulations.

  • Monitor audit logs and access reporting as needed.

Integrations & Technical Collaboration

  • Support integrations with Adobe Creative Cloud and other enterprise systems.

  • Partner with Applications and IT on API configurations and workflow enhancements.

  • Evaluate emerging DAM-related technologies, including AI-driven metadata tools, where appropriate.

Training & Adoption

  • Develop training materials, user guides, and best practice documentation.

  • Conduct training sessions across departments and offices.

  • Promote adoption and continuous improvement of DAM workflows.


Education and/or Experience:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of enterprise-level DAM administration experience, preferably including Bynder platform experience.

  • Proven experience leading enterprise asset migration and metadata restructuring initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, and metadata architecture.

Preferred:

  • Experience onboarding new users and creating training materials.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and platform integrations.

  • Experience in professional services or regulated industries.

  • Bynder DAM (Brand Portal, metadata configuration, workflows, user permissions)

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Microsoft 365

  • Identity management and role-based access control

  • Experience with API integrations preferred

  • Capture One

The target salary range for this role is:

$85,600 - $118,000 if located in Illinois

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
