To support growing demand for digital process automation and data-driven decision-making, we are seeking a Digital Process  Coordinator to support day-to-day digital, automation, and analytics activities across Industrial projects.

Based out of Aecon's Sherwood Park office and reporting to the Lead Digital Analyst, this role is focused on process mapping, workflow automation, data integration, and platform sustainment. The position supports the design, development, maintenance, and health of digital solutions.

Please Note: This is intended to be a 1-year contract position, with the possibility for extension or conversion to a permanent role.

What You'll Do Here:

Process Mapping & Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support process discovery, documentation, and mapping (current-state, future-state) for Industrial workflows and operational processes into automation-ready logic and data flows.
  • Assist with digital initiatives by mapping observed issues into improvement opportunities.
  • Support value stream analysis and identification of manual, repetitive, or high-risk process steps suitable for automation.

Power Platform Development & Workflow Maintenance

  • Build, enhance, and maintain Power Automate flows, including document processing, approvals, notifications, and system integrations.
  • Support development, maintenance, troubleshoot issues of Power Apps used for data intake, process tracking, and operational workflows.
  • Support testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization of new digital configuration solutions.

Data, Analytics & Microsoft Fabric Support

  • Support data ingestion, transformation, and modeling using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, pipelines, semantic models).
  • Assist in maintaining datasets and data pipelines used for reporting, automation, and AI-driven insights.
  • Support Power BI dashboards by ensuring data accuracy, refresh reliability, and alignment with process logic.

Coding, Automation Logic & Technical Support

  • Support automation logic using expressions, conditions, variables, and structured data handling within Power Platform.
  • Assist with light scripting or coding tasks (e.g., SQL queries, Python for automation support, data prep).
  • Support AI-enabled workflows (AI Builder, document intelligence, classification models) by maintaining inputs, outputs, and integrations.
  • Help ensure automation solutions remain scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Enablement

  • Work closely with Project teams to understand workflows and data requirements.
  • Support communication between technical solutions and operational users.
  • Assist with training, knowledge transfer, and adoption of digital tools.
  • Support documentation, SOPs, and handover materials for sustained use of digital solutions.

What You Bring to the Team:

Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, especially: Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
  • Experience or working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and modern data platforms.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting production automation workflows.
  • Awareness of SQL, Python, or similar scripting languages for data and automation support.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and document-based workflows.
  • Exposure to AI-driven automation (AI Builder, document processing, classification) is an asset.

Process Awareness & Core Competencies

  • Foundational understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement concepts, with familiarity in process mapping and process analysis (e.g., flowcharts, value stream concepts), applied to process documentation and automation support.
  • Detailoriented and comfortable working with live production systems, workflows, and data pipelines.
  • Strong problemsolving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and stabilize automation solutions.
  • Organized and reliable, with the ability to manage daytoday operational support tasks alongside ongoing improvement work.
  • Comfortable collaborating with CI, Quality, Planning, and Project teams to understand processes and data needs.
  • Able to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, especially when explaining digital workflows and automation logic.
  • Selfmotivated and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and grow within Aecon's digital and continuous improvement environment.
