Die Maintenance TechnicianJob Summary

The Die Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining stamping dies, die cast molds, injection rubber and nylon molds, and related tooling to support manufacturing operations. The role ensures production equipment remains in safe working condition, minimizes downtime, and supports product quality through preventative maintenance, technical problem-solving, and collaboration with production and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving stamping dies, die cast molds, injection rubber and nylon molds, and production tooling.
  • Perform repair, maintenance, and adjustment of dies, molds, and tooling to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
  • Inspect tooling components to identify wear, damage, or performance issues requiring repair or replacement.
  • Support production by responding to tooling and equipment issues during manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with die changeovers, setup, and tooling modifications as required.
  • Participate in Continuous improvement activities to support manufacturing performance.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area while following established maintenance procedures and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve tooling-related issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman's Card or a minimum of five years of documented die maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing stamping dies, die cast molds, injection rubber and nylon molds, and tooling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong visual inspection and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal training from a recognized trade school.
  • College-level technical education or equipment manufacturer training.
  • Experience across multiple areas of die maintenance and tooling repair.
