Die Maintenance Technician / Tool & Die Technician – 2nd & 3rd Shift


Location: Springfield, Ohio


Pay: $20.13–$40.30 per hour


Job Type: Full-Time


Available Shifts

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

Overtime and additional hours may be required as needed.

What You'll Do

As a Die Maintenance Technician, you will maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and improve progressive and transfer stamping dies used in high-volume automotive manufacturing.


Your work will help keep production running safely and efficiently while ensuring dies continue to meet quality and production requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain progressive and transfer stamping dies.
  • Troubleshoot die and tooling issues and perform effective repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on dies and tooling.
  • Support production by minimizing tooling downtime.
  • Troubleshoot die-related quality and production concerns.
  • Perform tool steel repairs and modifications.
  • TIG weld and repair tool steels.
  • Perform precision hand grinding and finishing.
  • Operate Tool Room equipment, including:
    • Manual Mills
    • Surface Grinders
    • Lathes
    • Hand Tools
    • Precision Measuring Equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, tooling prints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Support tooling improvements and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.


What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attendance and dependable work history.
  • Ability to work overtime and additional hours as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team


Education & Experience

Option 1:

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Tool & Die Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Tool & Die experience.

OR

Option 2:

  • Minimum of 5 years of documented Die Maintenance experience in a metal stamping environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle tooling components safely.
  • Ability to safely operate Tool Room equipment.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes and perform rigging tasks when required.
