Job description

This position is responsible for dealing dice while ensuring a courteous, engaging, and enjoyable experience for Palms Casino Resort guests. The position also plays a key role in generating revenue for the department through excellent customer service and effective game management.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • The ability to deal Dice games (Craps/Dice) and provide guests with courteous and accurate service while promoting an entertaining environment.

  • The skill set to deal a procedurally correct game, while maintaining department standards of game productivity and protecting company assets.

  • The capability to assist guests by answering general questions and handling special requests to provide them with courteous service to encourage gaming activity.

  • Actively support and sell current marketing promotions and be a strong advocate of the Serrano Club program.

  • Maintain standing position for the duration of each shift while actively engaging players, dealing games accurately, and upholding a professional and focused presence.

  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the departmental dress code.

  • Continuously demonstrate a pleasant and enthusiastic demeanor.

  • Consistent and regular attendance and punctuality.

Required Qualifications:

  • You must proficiently deal craps/dice games.

  • You must be literate and fluent in English.

  • You must be eligible to obtain a Nevada Gaming License.

  • Mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Flexibility to accommodate changing business demands, i.e., schedule changes and overtime.

  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

  • Adhere to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.

  • Available to work all shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a Casino/Hotel setting.

  • You must be tolerant of varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.

  • You may be exposed to smoke.

  • Prolonged Standing: The ability to stand for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this position, the Team Member is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Repetitive Motions associated with dealing dice. The position involves repetitive hand, wrist, and finer movements, including frequent reaching, handling, and dexterity required to deal and collect dice, handle gaming chips, and operating equipment.

  • Eye/hand coordination associated with dealing dice. Visual acuity and eye/hand coordination is required to accurately identify dice, chips, and player actions under varying lighting conditions.

  • Balancing, stooping (up to 45 degrees), kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move/lift objects and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • The ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Use of standard office equipment.

  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
