Job description

Job Summary:
Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) delivers high-impact, technical solutions to complex national security issues. They are seeking a Technical Editor to assist with systems engineering and testing and evaluation programs in support of the Department of Homeland Security.
Responsibilities:
• The Technical Editor will review technical documents related to systems engineering, T&E, policies, requirements, and standards.
• Develop detailed comments, corrections, questions, and improvement recommendations in a comment matrix or narrative format.
• Participate in comment adjudication meetings when requested, and manage priorities and schedules to flexibly support time-sensitive reviews and provide rapid recommended responses.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in technical writing or editing.
• Experience with T&E policies, requirements, and standards.
• DHS T&E Level 1, DAWIA T&E Foundational Level 1, and/or CTEP (Certified Test and Evaluation Professional) certification.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in written and verbal formats, with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
Preferred:
• Experience in providing assistance to program planning and oversight, exercise, development, execution and evaluation; system level analysis; system integration support inclusive of understanding of threats and vulnerability; technical assessment & evaluation to support and complement the Government’s technical experts in applying both acquisition efforts and RDT&E.
• Prior experience supporting DHS programs.
• Active DHS Suitability.
