To thrive as a Development Representative, you need strong communication, sales acumen, and research skills, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, email automation tools, and lead generation platforms is typically required. Proactiveness, resilience, and a collaborative mindset are crucial soft skills that help build lasting client relationships and exceed targets. These abilities drive successful outreach, foster business growth, and ensure achievement of sales goals in a competitive environment.

What is a Development Representative salary?

A Development Representative, often referred to as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR), typically earns a base salary plus commission. In the United States, the average base salary ranges from $45,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on location, experience, and industry.
