An SDR (Sales Development Representative) is responsible for prospecting and qualifying leads for the sales team. They typically conduct outbound outreach through emails, calls, and social media to connect with potential customers. Their goal is to set up meetings or demos for account executives by identifying prospects who are a good fit for the company's products or services. This role is crucial for generating pipeline and driving revenue growth. Successful SDRs have strong communication skills, persistence, and a results-driven mindset.

What are typical daily responsibilities for an SDR?

SDRs spend most of their day prospecting for new leads, qualifying inbound inquiries, and reaching out to potential customers through emails, phone calls, and social media. They research target accounts, personalize outreach efforts, and document all interactions in CRM systems. Additionally, SDRs schedule meetings or product demos for senior sales representatives and collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and strategies. Familiarity with CRM software like Salesforce, outreach platforms, and email automation tools is highly valuable. Job description

Venice.io is a Series A identity security company helping enterprises secure human, non-human identities across their environments. We're scaling our go-to-market engine and building a world-class sales development function to fuel that growth.

We're hiring an SDR Manager to lead, coach, and scale our inbound and outbound SDR team across the Enterprise segment. You'll own top-of-funnel pipeline generation, develop rep skills and careers, and partner closely with Sales and Marketing to hit growth targets. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves building teams and processes from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Hire, onboard, coach, and retain a high-performing team of SDRs.
  • Own SDR pipeline targets and consistently deliver qualified opportunities to Account Executives.
  • Build and refine outbound sequences, messaging, and prospecting playbooks tailored to security buyers (CISOs, IAM/identity leads).
  • Coach reps on discovery, objection handling, and multi-channel outreach (email, phone, social).
  • Partner with Marketing on lead flow, campaigns, and inbound follow-up SLAs.
  • Track and report on team metrics (activity, conversion, pipeline) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Own and optimize the SDR tech stack - Salesforce, HubSpot, Nooks, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator - and enforce clean, disciplined CRM hygiene.
Requirements
  • 2+ years managing an SDR/BDR team, ideally at a B2B SaaS or cybersecurity vendor.
  • Track record of hitting and exceeding pipeline-generation targets.
  • Strong coaching ability and a genuine passion for developing early-career sellers.
  • Hands-on fluency with a modern sales stack:Salesforce, HubSpot, Nooks, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator (or comparable tools).
  • Excellent communication skills and a data-driven approach to management.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling security, identity, or IAM solutions.
  • Familiarity with both inbound and outbound motions across multiple market segments.

Why Venice

Join a fast-growing security company at an inflection point, with the chance to build a team and leave your mark on our sales culture. Competitive base + variable compensation, equity, and full benefits.
